That’s not been my experience nor the posters, I imagine.
If the content is legally obtainable, couldn’t any employee use their own home network to pull data? I don’t think anyone would bother with a resi. Employees have their own network connections available.
The segfaults won’t get them close. They aren’t currently exploitable given the nginx config.
They won’t. Execs have no idea how to deploy AI. At best they think it means they can give a junior dev $20/month and make them a principal.
Existing companies will fold. Hyper AI companies will eat their lunch.
…yes? This is the equivalent of an electrician showing up to your house without tools.
It would be faster to setup a deepseek locally hosted instance or glm than try and build by hand, assuming all hosted providers were down somehow.
Which is to say, there is no token quota. If you run out you buy more.
Microsoft? Maybe they’re hopeful the next admin will make OPT cheap labor again.
With ai, if you can’t figure out how to craft a resume and meaningfully apply to 3 jobs a day, that’s a skill issue.
That’s 2.5 hours allotted per application, some of which may just be attaching a resume and hitting a submit button.
That’s not how a job works when you have a family to provide for.
The frontier of voice synth has reached roughly human parity. It’s also very inexpensive.
I’d be shocked if we don’t have mainstream games with AI voices soon.
That’s not how it works for the applicant. Many people are applying to nearly 100 roles a month.
Suppose you get interviews on 10% of those. That’s 10 interview pipelines, and if every company had this policy, 90 unpaid interviewing hours.
Like the comment elsewhere in this thread, candidates will find other roles before your interview gauntlet concludes.
PERM is an employment based green card that requires a labor market test. In my own experience, I’ve been part of fake job postings and interviews.
Effectively you put the persons role up as a job ad, then fail a few people in the interview and that’s all it takes for PERM.
They weren’t real interviews. The job postings wasn’t real. I interviewed people so someone on the team already could get a PERM.
Hmm? Green card fraud is pretty easy and very common. You put out an ad for the job role. Then you sort the fake resumes to the top and fail them in the interview.
Boom, perm green card. Every big company does it.
If that were true, they would release Gemini 4.
Vanguard needs a full tech overhaul, a clean sweep. The website is legitimately amateur hour and has been for decades.
It's over. LLMs can produce any algorithm, any tech stack, any concept in seconds, minutes, or hours.
Writing code is like trying to build a house without powertools. Could you do it? Sure. But no one ever will, for most values of no one.
The premium models are worth 10% of your income at least.
There is no future without these models. They truly are an entirely different league than the cheap stuff. You can move mountains with Astra or Opus 5.5.
Ai pitch accent is not correct with most TTS systems for Japanese. I’ve tried many.
They won’t be able to. Open models exist and run on a Mac you can buy now or in October.
Well I wouldn’t trust Gemini with most things.
They ruined Minecraft in the same way. Microsoft login tied, emails, captchas, losing auth, losing purchases because it can’t tie auth to the system.
Microsoft is a joke.
“Better”, maybe or maybe not. But there’s an underlying truth here. If you’ve ever LOOKED at the open source libs you use, some of them are very very rough.
Going in to a project hoping to make a change and seeing no tests and spaghetti used to be soul crushing. These days I’d have Claude go refactor and add tests and make pull requests for me to look at to fix it.
The change is exponential and happening daily. The future is smaller teams spending a lot of money on AI credits.
It’s a new form of development. The thing that the author didn’t state is that to work the code base at all, you must also use these tools and workflows.
Manual edits literally aren’t possible. You can’t grok the code growth and the new patterns fast enough to be productive.
This does work. I’ve seen it in real products. Nobody has a real mental model of the code flows. But with enough money in Claude credits it doesn’t matter.
The spend to support this development model is something like $50/day/developer.
This is so obviously incorrect that I have to wonder if it was an AI response.
There’s an app on the App Store that only has the purpose of YouTube without ads.
Can’t get more layman.
There are currently multiple trivial ways for a layman to block all YouTube ads.
Residential proxies won’t get flagged and are easy to obtain, if expensive.
It seems clear that it was a money spending machine, not a money printing machine.
I’ve 100%’d Balatro and wheel of fortune is quite strong. It’s never worth taking before you’re at max interest though.
