If it’s a rough wireframe it can be just that, rough.
If it’s a pixel perfect mockup then it’s a contract for final product IMO.
Of course whether there are that many sets of eyes on it depends how big a co you’re working for!
(a) is not (entirely) correct. There are literally hundreds of epidemiologists, doctors, NLP engineers, etc that have worked on the models. They are not 20 questions. (I'm definitely not saying its perfect!)
(b) is false. Babylon get paid as any other GP practice does with a fee per patient (on the NHS side). Digital & phone first is GREAT. I've had appointments 7 minutes after opening the app before.
(d) is also not correct, it depends which of their services you use. GP @ Hand is pretty explicit about that being the case - it's the entire value proposition.
If you use the private service (as I do) then you keep your GP (I spoke to mine this morning).
(e) I'm not really sure how this makes it more likely they would have a data leak?
You almost couldn't have got any more of what you said wrong - why the hate?
I've long wondered why these guys are out there pitching their courses, right now I just believe its a) because they see everyone else doing it b) its easy money but really c) because their businesses are just on auto-pilot.
A lot of these guys have VA's who do a lot of the heavy lifting. I just think they're getting bored and don't want to be forgotten on the conference circuit.
Finding a "winning" product is the hard part (0 revenue at this point), now imagine that product has a margin of $10 (after acquisition cost), all you have to do is find just 100 people to buy it to be making $1000 a day. Think about that for a moment, only 100 people from the entirety of Facebook or Instagram to be making $1000 a day profit.
We're small fry compared to some of the guys out there, there are people doing 6 figures a day. Some mid 6 figures.
I couldn't even bear the thought of another startup (while it was always a long term goal) until I took a break. Now I'm back in the grind.
Shit happens unfortunately, its how you pick yourself up and dust yourself up that separates us. Best of luck.
Location doesn't matter right now except would be great if you were in a (relevant) major city. I'm in Bali right now, Malaysia & Singapore next week, Tokyo for the rest of July.
Product is there, currently talking to people about it.
Best to get me on [email protected] (Intentional obfuscation)
Obviously it doesn't compare to something like a Macbook Air - which I have with me this time round.
They're trying to make some very serious criticisms without detracting too much from the fact that Internet.org actually got off their arses to do something about the digital divide.
I think its fair. They're trying to give some degree of credit where its due, as opposed to an all out attack. Its hard for me personally to agree with an all out attack piece when I'm conscious of the seemingly good intentions of the project (conspiracies aside).
I'm sure every single one of us cares that people died yesterday. Don't want to get into a big debate, jus sayin. #deepbreaths
Words cant describe, I feel reinvented. Note: I was disconnected the WHOLE time. Things take on a new meaning.
What I'm going to do however is pitch to the specific groups, the specific uses. I'm going to get out and talk the moms and pops crowd, the artsy crowd, the cyclist crowd and show them how/why they should be using it.
Maybe I've read it wrong, but it doesn't seem like a product/market fit problem to me, it seems like a "I haven't showed these people sufficiently how/why to use it for what matters to them" problem.
Edit: Rereading what I've wrote back I feel even more certain of something: perhaps the problem with creating a product that is too generic is that the gap has to be filled with education, if it isn't obvious on how to use it - like the case might be with a product that is very specific - then you have to fill that with a non-codey layer over the top.
Double edit: I think its funny how I see people write about "coder mindset" as a reason that they've hit a snag but yet still manage to stick to a coder-solution mindset. Maybe try a new layer of packaging, some education. Literally detach from being a programmer. Source: Programmer, marketeer, photoshopper background
My overall comment would be really drive home the problem(s) that you're trying to solve, whatever they might be. I would lead with those. i.e.
- Fed up of wasting perfectly good ingredients? - Want to make smarter purchasing decisions? - Take the guesswork out of your next specials - etc etc
What you have at the moment is mostly the solution, I'd pitch up the problem like I mentioned above, then a few points on your products magic.
It shouldn't be too tough because even from just seeing your current page I "get it".
Just my 2 penneth :)
Although we're 'appy to 'av ya.
:)
Consider:
"Oh hey ma, the damned government is demanding public SSL keys, that means they can grab the data between your computer screen, and [insert popular services] servers"
vs
"Err, ma. The government has just announced they're now going to be reading peoples minds wherever and whenever you are."
I'm sure one would illicit a much more active response, and as ever, its down to full understanding.
You'd have to also consider whether smoking the drug is more intense than sniffing, which would possibly compensate for the fact theres less cocaine.
Not a source per se, but some interesting info here on consumption methods: http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/addiction/drugs/deliv...
Long time member. Today we've begun pushing weartolook, something we've been working on now for a good couple of years. Its been a crazy journey, we could probably write the book on how not to launch your startup.
We're 2 London based founders that are totally self-taught programmers, we have over 300 of the UK's (and some from the US) best stores on board: Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Harrods, Saks Fifth, Net-a-porter to name a few and today we have >3m products.
Take a look and let us know what you think, we're wide open for feedback.
