Re:I Quit OpenAI Because Its Culture Is Broken on Saturday October 03, 2026 @10:30AM (#49944603)
I see what you're saying but how does that actually matter besides being a personal attack?

I think once the models are good enough, frontier shops will kick their customers out and use the compute for themselves.
Re:Grok 4.7 on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @01:27AM (#49797102)
Running some models locally and seeing these thinking tokens was quite the experience. I never saw an LLM so "unsure" about virtually everything.
That's what I assumed, and found strange that the referenced article refers to him as a Chinese national. That said, that publication is also probably not very credible because I can't find anything backing up that claim.
Why in the world is U.S. Customs and Border Protection hiring foreign nationals?

It's free?
Ah, rare data hunters.
I don't think these things start out looking like a weapons. Wrong reflector shape? It could just be proving out other aspects. It could also be completely innocent too, but I don't think this is quite conspiracy level thinking.
Yes, think about how this can be weaponized. Illuminate an area? Or, focus that energy on a single point and you've got sun powered space lasers?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?

I can't tell if my brain is decaying or if this is just drivel. It's happening more and more, not just this article. Maybe I'm just burnt out and my brain rejects any attempts at comprehending software articles.
I think the problem with "AI assisted" is that it triggers the same alarm bells as AI slop, justified or not, so many readers just turn off. I personally rather read "shitty" writing than AI assisted writing.
I've worked at companies that don't outright require it, but they utilize a few workaholic employees to set an expectation sane people can't live up to. It creates a stressful environment where expectations are unclear. Combine that with the current job market and you effectively hold your employees hostage.

Refreshing to read something not in the voice of an llm.
No mention of if it actually improved outcomes.
Re:Claude Code no longer included in Pro tier? on Tuesday April 21, 2026 @07:44PM (#47856441)
The rug pull is coming
This is the most frustrating problem I have. I do my 40 hours per week, play with my kids, relax with the wife, and play some video games. I don't really have any other problems besides not enough time in the day. And yet when I learn about some domain specific problem, it is blindingly obvious.
Re:Steam on Linux Use Skyrocketed Above 5% in March on Thursday April 02, 2026 @12:08AM (#47609889)
I was waiting for the steam machine and grew impatient. I instead built a PC to go behind our family room TV. I gave bazzite a chance before committing to a copy of Windows. I'm glad I did. It runs perfectly. Zero hassle, no chasing down drivers. The only thing to be aware of is that a handful of games are not compatible, generally due to their anti-cheat software (e.g. marathon won't run, but arc raiders does.)

Re:Ask HN: Is vibe coding a new mandatory job requirement? on Wednesday March 18, 2026 @01:12AM (#47421819)
dead internet theory is really taking grip
I can't tell if this is real or a joke.
Re:Google just gave Sundar Pichai a $692M pay package on Sunday March 08, 2026 @03:14PM (#47300174)
I always got the impression these ultra rich are workaholics that barely see their family.
Re:Google just gave Sundar Pichai a $692M pay package on Sunday March 08, 2026 @03:00PM (#47300029)
You know what I don't understand? Rich people buying all these mega mansions. What's the point? I hardly have time to enjoy my middle class single family home. Is it just a dick measuring contest?
Re:Why is Claude an Electron app? on Saturday February 21, 2026 @08:41PM (#47107213)
Sam might be 7 beers deep, or maybe he's available. In my org, oncall is just who gets the 2am phone call. They can try to contact anyone else if needed.

Claude is there as long as you're paying, and I hope he doesn't hallucinate an answer.

Re:Why is Claude an Electron app? on Saturday February 21, 2026 @08:40PM (#47107206)
Yeah it happens, and it's not ideal, and now instead of a risk, it's a guarantee.

"hey coworker, I know your team wrote this, can you help?" Except there is no coworker, just Claude
