How does this compare with the Dasung Paperlike 25.3? Looks like the same E-ink display, but perhaps different driver?

Re:Ideal Monitor Rotation for Programmers on Friday December 03, 2021 @01:06AM (#29427115)
Get a single 43” 4K monitor.

Then use a window manager that allows to automatically arrange windows. I build my own using Hammerspoon on macOS.

Great productivity upgrade.

Confirmed: Build a 30k pages site with Hugo in 53 seconds, including grabbing JSON content from Contentful and deploy on AWS S3.

Took some effort to get everything under 60 seconds, speed was the main reason to use Hugo.

Re:Eric Schmidt has applied to become a citizen of Cyprus on Tuesday November 10, 2020 @08:11AM (#25045543)
In the Masters of Scale podcast (1) Eric Schmidt told Reid Hoffman in september that COVID-19 is limiting his ability to do what he loves to do to the extent that he shifted his main focus to COVID-19. One of the reasons for this was his decreased ability to freely move around and meet people.

Getting a EU passport makes moving in the EU a lot easier.

Re:MacBook Pro Keyboard Drives Me Crazy on Thursday August 29, 2019 @12:45AM (#20826764)
Buy a Thinkpad and install Hackintosh.

I was so done with both the MacBook and MacBook Pro keyboards that I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T480s. Installed Hackintosh, running the latest macOS Mojave 10.14.5 without issues (only drawback is that the Touchpad on the MacBooks are better).

Finally I can type again.

Second that T480s, love it. 24GB RAM, 2TB SSD. Booting OpenBSD, macOS and Linux. Scaling on WQHD display works solid. Only drawback is that the WWAN (4G) only works under Linux and the touchpad is not as good as in a MacBook Pro.

Algolia and HackterNews (Y Combinator) are two different parties. Algolia implemented the HackerNews API (which is based on Firebase). Agolia uses their JavaScript library to enhance the user experience (for near instant search results).

Yeah, I was quite surprised myself. Thought it was worth bookmarking and sharing ;)

Ask HN: How to privately share photos/videos from multiple devices

We probably have a typical tech household setup: multiple phones, several camera's (DSLR, action cameras, drone) and multiple laptops and a desktop. We generate currently 40K photos and 5K videos (around 2TB) per year. Some images are private, only for my wife or for myself, some should be shared. I tried having a 'shared' folder (synced using private OwnCloud), and then manually selecting which...
