I recently earned my PhD in applied machine learning with focus on NLP. Although I've started my career with a title of "research engineer," my role leans heavily towards research rather than engineering. I've noticed that most job opportunities where I'm considered a strong candidate tend to be research-oriented. However, I don't envision myself in a long-term career focused on publishing...

This is cool, but I think there is a long way to go. It fails even on simple lookup-based questions.

I was watching a video recently posted on 3Blue1Brown channel (https://youtu.be/Agbh95KyWxY) He raises a very related point in his first answers. He attributes a certain playfulness and curiosity alongside expertise as some sort of necessary condition for paradigm-changing research.

I have used it for translating several academic writeups, including proposals and papers from English to German. It works like a charm. Also, translates German official letters from banks and government, to English pretty well.

As a computer science grad, I am glad that I took few subjects from humanities stream like science technology and society, introduction to Plato etc. It equipped me to read much larger literature, taught me to raise right kind of questions and challenged me go out of my context and rethink my own opinion

It would be great if, Google can make these two week introductory courses available for everyone.
