@dang nice Unicode hack here you might want to consider filtering
Each architecture has a "library" of these bizarrely named functions that are mapped by the compiler to CPU-specific instructions. I'd suggest 90%+ of C programmers couldn't name a single one of them, and that's fine, because they have no place in C outside of tight platform-specific optimization work, which very few people have a need for or mandate to actually work on
Note this works in both directions, in particular if you're a Yandex user (for example their free mail-for-domains service)
The RFP format automatically excludes the bottom 90% of commodity applicants
That epoch of Google died near on a decade ago now
The presentation of your app is gorgeous, but I was unable to open the try pro free page on LineageOS (no Play Services installed). I was just curious about how monetization worked. It just shows an endless spinner, tried repeatedly and waited 30+ seconds
Just curious, how much time do you think you put into it in total? App / web
Also curious how you marketed it, if at all
Insightful thread on how (worst case) this might escalate:
https://twitter.com/man_integrated/status/149329779603169281...I'm guessing the more likely option is that the trucker community become "conscientious objectors" and refuse to work, in the hope that their number will cripple services. Does sitting at home still count as terrorism? Because I'd happily fund that
They need it to maintain growth, otherwise punished ruthlessly by market and lost access to credit. That's not an optional spend
This guy is the financial equivalent of the old world street preacher wearing an "end of the world is nigh" placard. Grantham has been saying the same thing every year for as long as I've had interest in markets. He's considered a joke by the vast majority of the educated financial world

The game just moves elsewhere. There is always some new hotness with increasingly obscene forward growth expectations. Sell MSFT, buy SNOW. Sell SNOW, buy MDB. Sell MDB, buy PTON. Sell PTON, buy NET etc.
A lone wolf with $250m and no legal recourse is an attractive target for all kinds of folk
That was an extremely high risk change on GCP's part, reminds me of the App Engine days when you'd wake up to find a totally healthy program spamming 500s because they'd make a breaking change without any announcement. It's shocking they're still pulling stuff like this in 2022
There is some deeply perverse insight in this comment and I love it. The principle seems to apply quite generally across much of modern tech. Where are the viable contenders for Google products built on a platform of.. counter-reputation? This concept needs a name
> He has made countless claims like these long before any good research had been done
This could describe almost anyone working on COVID over the past 2 years
> Nobody is forcing anyone to partake in this new technology

Unfortunately Michael Saylor is the rule rather than the exception. Crypto marketing is extremely coercive, with slogans like "have fun staying poor!", intended to maximize shame and peer pressure to encourage the vulnerable and ignorant to become "believers". This is explicitly bullying behaviour.
