They will enforce it the way copyright is already enforced. If you use a fake face in your film no platform will be able to host it.
You can use https://archive.ph to archive webpages instantly and (seemingly) forever.

Btw, I've been aching for a browser extension that saves a copy of every web site I visit so I can reach for the archived copy in my history window. Does anything like that exist?

Of course they will make their customers pay for it. That's how companies work: the customers pay for the expenses of the company.
Literally. I'm sure the purpose of all these regulations (including the EU banning petrol cars) is that in a few decades poor people won't allowed to drive their own cars.

It's European time currently. So, crabs time.
Re:Netflix crushed the Latin American password black market on Monday October 09, 2023 @01:15PM (#37822711)
It's people reselling their accounts, there's no "selflessness" involved the way you see it.

Your comment makes it sound like volunteers have a great degree of freedom and that's not the case because, obviously, in these organisations you will be shown the door if you don't do what others tell you to do.

You should see the Microsoft forums then.

User: Hey guys I get error 2389042 when using Windows Update.

Pradeep Chadurniyaad: I'm here to help you sir. Have you tried to format Windows?

>In October the finance ministry, in its annual report on the issue, estimated that in 2018 immigrants from non-Western countries and their descendants drained from public finances a net 31bn kroner ($4.9bn), some 1.4% of GDP. Immigrants from Western countries, by contrast, contributed a net 7bn kroner (see chart).

So yes, it has downsides... The downside of not working at all. (In this comment, I am separating Western and non-Western immigrants, since you mentioned xenophonobes)

That the Nobel Peace Prize is not a serious award should have been evident when Obama won it.

One of the most important interests if not the primary interest of a democratically-chosen government is to remain in power as well.

We should be an absolute beacon of morality and principles with a stellar track record to criticise (or even, instill change through violence in) in other countries. That is not the case yet, so let's work on that.

This wasn't invented by the internet either. Free newspapers or TV are examples of services funded by advertisements.
Re:YouTube's crackdown on ad blockers intensifies on Thursday October 05, 2023 @02:47PM (#37782459)

It's nice but the CRT filter in a big monitor burns my retinas. CRTs didn't look like that unless you got too close to the screen. I guess I'm supposed to move away from the screen but then I can't reach the mouse, :)
You must return the old iphone when you upgrade, and I am sure it does not end in the dustbin :)
How do they do that?

Re:Enabling IPv6 support for IPv4-only apps on Linux on Wednesday October 04, 2023 @04:06AM (#37762240)
It's an RFC6052 address.
What didn't you like about it?
