Wouldn't it be cheaper to directly compensate such customers rather than keeping the whole website down for 3 days?
If a user uses $1M of his own money to trade and make 100K in profit. Does he owe taxes on 100K or 1.1m?
There are travel restrictions all over the world currently due to the COVID-19 situation. People are not allowed to travel from one city to another in the same country without proper documents. Lots of countries are not even allowing international flights at this point. To tie this in just with US passport is simply politically motivated.
Great job! Are the radio stations live?
Is it worth it to buy just for reading purposes? I have a Kindle but a want bigger screen to read PDFs and web pages.
Also, any integration with the Android app store?
What makes something like AWS lambda complex? I feel lambda is one of the easiest and fastest way to get something out the door.
No idea about this. But sending good wishes your way!
Maybe sell your startup to some investor and keep some equity stake and then join your friend's company. This will help you recoup some of the hard work that you have done as well as have stake in its future growth.
I am interested in finding out how Twirp helps with versioning? Is it possible to have services evolve independent of each other?
The war we were all waiting for has begun. I am going to grab some popcorn and watch it on my Roku.
Maybe there is need for a startup that can pool the retirement money from retirees and assure them of a comfortable life style till the time they die. I think this will allow the retirees to enjoy their life much more rather than worrying about "what might happen...".
Keeping all our prejudices aside, it would make logical sense to settle these refugees in Arabic speaking countries. They won't have to struggle with language, customs and other infinite issues that come with being transplanted to a totally alien culture. Being closer to their home countries will also allow them to visit their relatives still in Syria and also for those relatives to visit them.
You should have told this fact to Yahoo management before they invested in Alibaba or maybe to Naspers before they invested in Tencent.
A portable and highly accurate blood pressure monitor which can take your BP at multiple times throughout the day, similar to existing wearables that measure heart rate etc.
I am still not sure why it is a good idea to let millions get displaced from the ancestral lands, having hundreds of them dying while trying to migrate and then the remaining ones living isolated lives in alien countries with those countries supporting them by spending billions of dollars every year and having culture and way of life changed forever. Compare this to taking on ISIS once and for all which numbers about 30,000 - 40,000 fighters. Wouldn't it be better to spend those billions of dollars and take on some inevitable loss of life and annihilate them forever. From where did we all start believing in the defeatist mentality that world cannot take on ISIS? That land belongs to the Syrians and Iraqis and not to some 7th century cult. The best solution is to return that land to whom it belongs rather than taking millions of refugees and creating problems from them as well as for ourselves. If you want to take in refugees then there is no end to it, billions of ppl would like to move to Europe or USA. Whom are you going to deny and on what basis?
Regarding this statement -
"I noticed in the past that we should not encourage too much age difference because it's harder then to form groups that work."
Shouldn't a startup founder be then allowed to reject any 30+ candidate with the same reasoning if their company already has a bunch of 25 year olds? Can't you detect the blatant age bias in this statement?
What is the reason for having the age restriction of 30? Does it not implicitly contribute to the existing ageism issue in tech industry. Why can't a professional working in another industry learn something new at the age of 35 or a mother who wants to come back to the workforce after her kids start going to school?

There are pretty powerful programs available now for handling speech to text. Does anyone has experience with using them for day to day coding work?

Great stuff! Now if I someone can create a site with curated content from these sites so that I only need to visit only one site.
Definitely an uphill task from here onwards for anyone other than Sundar Pichai to become the next CEO of Google.
