Unfortunately this isn't true. They're certainly better than what they used to be, but they are no where near as reliable as Nvidia's. We tried a build out roughly 6 months ago and we couldn't switch back fast enough.
The funniest outcome with this whole “Apple vs. Beeper” saga would be if Apple said, “Fine use the iMessage protocol. We won’t break interoperability and you can even have full feature parity…
BUT… Any messages sent this way will still show up as the dreaded “Green Bubble”.
(I hope Eric and the Beeper team can pull through!)
This is a very slick demo. Nice job!
If you value your time at $0…
This is bad advice in general, but it's especially poor advice given the fact that the "crazy person" is running the company. OP needs to lawyer up immediately before (more) damage can be done.
I can assure you that it wasn't related just to rebooting as this has been something that's been bugging me for months. I had previously rebooted earlier in the day because of this exact same issue (a runaway WindowServer process), before I saw this article. I also did a fresh reboot
before following these instructions too as a sort of "control".
The change only happened for me after removing Chrome as well as the launch agent for keystone.
I've had noticeable issues with "WindowServer" in the past (taking 80% CPU usage and causing the fans to ramp up even when the system seemed like it should be idling even after a reboot) so I decided to give this a shot.
This is anecdotal but there is a noticeable difference for me with responsiveness after following these steps. Currently the WindowServer process is hovering around 14%.
This is fantastic!
I was pleasantly surprised how fast I went from signup to actionable data/graphs (roughly 2 minutes). Based on your landing page I was expecting to have to spend considerable more time on it.
Perhaps you could include a demo to show how quick it is to get setup and have something useful?
The reason f.lux sideloaded app got pulled is because they didn't release their source code. Instead, f.lux relied on loading/patching a binary that bypassed some of iOS security features and could load unsigned binarys (read: it could then run pirated apps).
This is very helpful, thanks!
Does this support 3D hardware acceleration? That seems to be a common problem for these types of setups.
This looks extremely nice; well done!
How much is the In App-Purchase to unlock private repositories?
This is unlikely to reach the front page (because of the time at which it was posted), but this is very cool. Perhaps you should resubmit at a more active time?
You don't want to publicly name (while bashing) the company you're quitting for seemingly trivial matters (read: Not illegal, abusive, or underhanded). Why burn a bridge?
Also, reading a post like this would certainly make me think twice about hiring a candidate.
I'm brought to a login/signup page when I click this link. Is there anyway to see the swipe card interface without creating an account?
Eventually it's possible. Building the core first.
That's a great point. I'll implement that.
In Holland, MI (30 min from Grand Rapids).
HackerBody workouts are 100% free. We require people to make an account because we're launching some really cool stuff soon that requires one.
jgrahamc, thanks for that. I'll look at changing the tagline.
HackerBody videos are 100% free. The TOS have stuff regarding refunds incase I launch some premium features down the road. I could see how that would be confusing. I'll work on adjusting that.
I'm requiring people to create accounts for some additional features I'm rolling out. Great point on having a demo workout that doesn't require some to login. I'll make that happen.
Acconrad, I appreciate your thoughts on the tagline, "meat head free". My goal was to appeal to people who aren't already doing something active. HackerBody isn't the end-all in being active but it's a great place for people to get started.
The videos are just the tip of the iceberg. I wanted to get this launched and get feedback before I push out new features.
Thanks for taking time to give me your feedback!

I'm in West Michigan. If anyone is in the area, I'd be happy to grab a drink. Contact info in profile.
This was an interesting read but be aware that it's only a snippet of the story and the rest is behind a paywal.
The problem with that display is that it's only 30hz. Any movement on the screen looks terrible.
Founders to be, take note: I worked with Jeff and David for a little over a month last year. The thing that stuck with me most wasn't their app (which is awesome by the way) but rather the way they treated me and every other team member. They were kind, gracious, wicked smart, and extraordinarily driven. They were always open to new ideas but never afraid to say "no".
If you're trying to figure out what type of founder to be, borrow generously from these guys.
