It's built on laravel, email/pass/2fa/forget is all built in. GitHub auth only was a choice.

It uses your GitHub public keys to authenticate so you can post from the CLI.
You bring your own channels, so you may be misunderstanding.
Nice, you should probably explain what traefik, sops and age will do. First time I've heard of sops, very handy!
Re:Scramble: Open-Source Alternative to Grammarly on Wednesday September 18, 2024 @12:02PM (#41581598)
Absolutely! Being dyslexic, Grammarly is much more than the AI tool that was recently added, which is great, too.

Re:Microsoft Is Eating the World on Monday November 20, 2023 @12:00PM (#38350540)
I imagine that is because Microsoft bends the knee and pays fines to Europe every few years and complies with its orders. The Microsoft software/services the USA see's is different to the Microsoft Software/Services the EU sees.
Re:Mark Zuckerberg: Threads users down by more than a half on Saturday July 29, 2023 @10:56AM (#36920899)
I don't think launching an MVP (which this was) works when there is such a large established monopoly your trying to disrupt. Especially as the MVP offers nothing new?
Re:Why has Mastodon adoption stalled? on Saturday June 24, 2023 @03:41PM (#36462026)
As it turns out, moderation and funding is hard.

"In 2022, Google made upward of $30 billion in revenue from the sale of ad space on publishers’ websites. That was six times the digital advertising revenue of all U.S. news publications, combined. In a functioning market, no one would expect the middleman to make more than the content creator."

Do they think the only "publishers" are "us news publications" or just purposely misleading readers?

CloudFlare Domains is better, a core business of CloudFlare and google would have to invest to compete. Which on the revenue does not make sense.
Harsh, no. I'm finding myself more in agreement more than ever. The future is "added value" such as making tools available, not just a answering questions with a CTA to your product/service.

Re:Ask HN: How to Build Your Own (Mini) Google Street View? on Tuesday December 20, 2022 @06:17AM (#34064357)
No, but I did think about it on a sleepless night ounce. Drones were not around when Google started street view. If they launched today, id envision a 'charging & control van' and several AI drones.
The weird thing is 2023 ChatGPT will use its own Stack Overflow answers as an source.
Re:Ask HN: How would I send 1 dollar to everyone on Earth? on Wednesday November 09, 2022 @05:37PM (#33539081)

Has same effect? Perhaps greater as not only reducing debt but interest the people's taxes had to fund.

Re:An unofficial guide to Mastodon and Fediverse on Monday November 07, 2022 @02:54PM (#33511414)
It doesn't matter? Or rather pick a fast one and one that has rules you can obay. it doesn't matter, as all servers talk to each other anyway.
Re:Your Organization should run its own Mastodon server on Monday November 07, 2022 @02:47PM (#33511311)
I tried for a few hours to get it running on Portainer and gave up.
Sounds like low hanging fruit scans.
Re:UK to hand over Chagos back to Mauritius on Friday November 04, 2022 @11:29AM (#33468346)
Indeed - though negotiations could tie the USA and UK into some form of recognition and protection. Especialy since USA wants to keep its base.
Re:Ask HN: Is DDG Becoming Unusable? on Sunday October 23, 2022 @09:17PM (#33311969)
I started seeing DDG TV advertising in the UK recently mocking Google tracking.
I never thought about it but thats probably because Plex can be installed on my TV so its never come to mind.
Re:Popcorn Time Is Back on Monday July 04, 2022 @10:45AM (#31977598)
You trust your mobile phone data to some sketchy VPN provider but not your Local ISP?
Re:AOL 3.0 reverse engineered on Sunday June 05, 2022 @02:05PM (#31633385)
