Tax law is a 100% human slop
Re:Scaling Git at OpenAI on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @02:29AM (#50349109)
What got us here won't get us there perhaps? Can you tell why open source started to exist in first place? Wasn't that a way to crowdsource manual labour, and this reason is not valid anymore, as cost of this spiecif labour is near zero?
There is probably no *need*. WebGPU gives in a nut shell a few additional ways to shave off CPU time.
I feel encouraged to upgrade, because the more I can do with coding agents the more I am getting limited: cloud coding agents are running on shitty VMs (no GPU), my laptop is melting down whenever I try to do a few more things at once.
Re:The Agent SDK on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @06:47PM (#50282038)
10 months ago I would agree, but today agent means something else: a workload, and the battle is on: who will host more of those workloads and do other kind of cross sell and upsell in this environment.

"Deploy" section of that article makes the difference.

That's my point: as a child/teenager I could dive deep into those worlds, and fill the gaps in graphics/gameplay with my imagination, and just like yours my time was pretty much unlimited. Today I feel alergic towards any kind of game that feels like a job, and requires work and some effort. HoMM from adult perspective is this type of game, it's not a hop-in hop-out type of experience, it's fully opposite.
Each time I recreate an old game I quickly realize that the gameplay which entertained me as a child/teenager is rather unbearable for me as an adult. HoMM is this type of game.

Show HN: Claude Code(and others) embedded in your app

https://github.com/gtanczyk/genaicode

I started this project in 2024 when I got fascinated with LLMs, and what I did was a coding agent (CLI -> interactive -> GUI). I also added an integration with Vite for having it embedded inside my apps(mostly games). Few months ago I pivoted it to become a low profile AI provider wrapper library (think jQuery for LLM usage), because I realized there is no point to have custom coding...

Re:Gdynia and the Dream of a Maritime Poland on Monday October 19, 2026 @01:37PM (#50155369)
Gdynia actually looks and feels like a city, it was designed to be such, and built from scratch. Think startup that actually became a rocketship! Architecturally it is very close to some parts of Warsaw, and has similar vibe.
I started to think differently about web search for agents, instead of traditional index, I would prefer to have an agentic WALKER that literally walks through pages and finds out whats needed, even if seeded with some initial web search.
Re:Tell HN: Google Argon on a Pro subscription is worthless on Friday October 16, 2026 @04:24AM (#50115662)
I used 50% in just one task(3d gamedev) on AI Pro in Antigravity desktop. It is not my daily driver anyways, but it was nice to see that it is actually performing and completing the task.
Re:Why We're Banning AI on Thursday October 15, 2026 @03:49PM (#50109293)
Is it a gentlemens agreement, or do you actually enforce this somehow? What stops anyone from prompting "copy my writing style, use less words, make some small typos and gramma inefficiences
Re:Getting the most out of Opus 5.5 in Claude and Claude Code on Saturday October 03, 2026 @06:22PM (#49948357)
Would a plan with daily quota only work for you better? (no monthly/weekly, just daily)
Re:Pop!_OS bans AI-generated code from much of its codebase on Saturday October 03, 2026 @05:18PM (#49947879)
Issue is entrenchment in the old SWE world that ceased to exist somewhere in August this year, and using AI to mechanize the traditional workflows. Also people with "I need to eyeball each char in PR diff" attitude, which is fucking unproductive at this point.
Re:Hole Punch: Sling your spaceship around gravitational fields on Saturday October 03, 2026 @03:53PM (#49947204)
Very nice, being busy with sth, and I could not go through all levels and reached the one with star(sun?), but the topic of gravity assist manouver was always inspiring for me, so I enjoy this game, congrats on making it!
Re:Ask HN: How will the AI endgame play out? on Thursday October 01, 2026 @03:42PM (#49926184)
why we don't see autonomous AI robots all over the globe yet?
Re:Software occlusion culling in Block Game on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @06:43AM (#49890988)
January 2026, thats light years in AI psychosis time units, thats before harness, and auto hill climbing era
Re:Ask HN: Is Opus 5.5 another step change? on Sunday September 27, 2026 @10:07AM (#49866784)
I stopped thinking that much about quota usage, there is less of accidental +10% weekly quota in 5 minutes.
Re:Show HN: I made a WWI dogfight game that runs in the browser on Saturday September 26, 2026 @06:51AM (#49855289)
in my games I try to avoid certain topics (like violence or death), so in case of this one no pilots are getting harmed!
Re:Show HN: I made a WWI dogfight game that runs in the browser on Friday September 25, 2026 @02:29PM (#49848223)
bw + proper cinematic filter, I'm curious how it will look, I will give it a try over the weekend, thanks! (Claude already suffered a lot working on this game...)
Re:OpenAI $500 ProMax plan listed in API on Friday September 25, 2026 @01:14PM (#49847273)
Cloud agents in Codex are quite poor solution compared to Claude Code, you are forced to use your own computer, which is not the desired setup for anyone with a standard laptop not suitable for doing lots of work in parallel.

So I would still prefer to spend some dollars in Anthropic or even Cursor solutions, which work much better as cloud dev envs.

Hello, this is one of my new games, developed with my own custom game engine. A lot of it was enabled by the latest AI models like Opus or Astra, I feel like I can finally express myself without being bogged down in asset work or programming. I hope you enjoy it :)

It would be nice to have sound effect generation (use case: games)
Re:My Thoughts on AI and LLMs on Friday September 18, 2026 @07:24PM (#49761599)
Providers cannot impose daily quota on local AI usage
Re:My Thoughts on AI and LLMs on Friday September 18, 2026 @06:17PM (#49760993)
You will be right only if AI will be usable locally on commodity hardware, otherwise access to AI will become a weapon on various fronts - including your employer, your home country government, foreign countries, and international orgs.
Your take is very interesting, but please do not forget that pirating games is a crime.
Why not build it as a web app and play via browser?
Your technical skills are shaped by market demand, and they always have been.

for example driverless taxis, which is an application of AI that most of us really want
