Re:Profit affects doctors' treatment decisions on Tuesday October 29, 2013 @04:18PM (#6637150)
Here in Norway, we were refused a c-section as my wife being fed up after 26 hours wasn't a valid reason for having one.

It also cost $0 total, with a baby delivered and 5 days in the 'new-parents-hotel' at the hospital, which included monitoring, help and instruction, and vaccines.

Two weeks ago a doctor lost his license here in Norway due to long term, high dosage antibiotic usage: http://translate.google.no/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&pre...

I currently have a native OSX version og glTail in review by Apple, which is quite a bit faster and easier to install than the Ruby version. I also have an updated IOS version in the queue which doesn't crash quite as often.
Re:Google’s most advanced voice search has arrived on iOS on Wednesday October 31, 2012 @05:52AM (#4722004)
Some years ago, I was showing of my Nexus One to my sister, and she was so impressed with the voice to text that she exclaimed "Wow! Can Google really do that?". The resulting text from Google was "Yes we can. Google is amazing. :-)"

Never been able to reproduce it though.

It'd be great if when I double-check a domains availability and it comes back negative, it turns red and is removed from future searches.
Re:Review: The 2011 $79 Kindle with ads and buttons on Friday October 07, 2011 @01:36PM (#3084980)
I've read two books so far on the ad-free version of this Kindle, and I've seen the degraded quality when I study the page quality, but never while actually reading.
Heh, this is pretty much exactly what I've been toying with in my spare time lately at http://illustrend.com - only with Erlang instead of Scala.
Re:Ask HN: Show me your Half Baked project on Saturday October 23, 2010 @03:19AM (#1822906)
http://illustrend.com - Self hosted, real-time Erlang/GWT metrics system. Uses Munin plugins, log files, HTTP GET, or a TCP socket to get the metrics into the system. Drag and drop chart and trend-list building to get the data back out.
A good way to visualize what happens on your site right now is glTail at http://www.fudgie.org/ - you can do a lot of the real-time queries you want with a custom parser.

What shipping? DealExtreme has free worldwide shipping.
The voice recognition better than with google voice ohh for cynics transctription service because i've found that to be a horriby inaccurate.

(Your question, spoken by a norwegian, transcribed by the new Google Voice Search)

We've had a MythTV box running in some form or other the last 6 years, so my kids have always had access to instant recordings and movies on demand.

It took quite a while for them to realize that not all TVs work like this, it wasn't just daddy being an ass when they wanted to watch Dora on their grandparents TV.

Re:A guide to GNU Screen on Friday January 09, 2009 @04:03AM (#426407)
Something like:

  hardstatus on
  hardstatus alwayslastline "%{rk}%H %{gk}%c %{yk}%M%d %{wk}%?%-Lw%?%{bw}%n*%f %t%?(%u)%?%{wk}%?%+Lw%?"
in ~/.screenrc gives an always-visible status line.
