I would use pandoc and convert to pdf using typst:

```
pandoc input.html -t typst -o output.typ
typst compile output.typ output.pdf
```

Re:Typst: A Possible LaTeX Replacement on Saturday September 27, 2025 @02:12PM (#45398127)
I totally agree. I have written in LaTeX extensively and Typst is a game changer and a life saver. The community is also a plus. I love it and I will never go back to TeX.

Today I Learned the power of LATERALs... thanks. :-)

RxDB is the OG? I thought it was PouchDB.
Re:Shiny for Python 1.0 on Tuesday July 23, 2024 @09:19AM (#41045712)
Great news!! Shiny for Python 1.0 is now available! As an enthusiast, I've been eagerly anticipating this release. Congratulations to the Posit team, who, with Quarto, Shiny, and so many other open-source projects, are bringing superpowers to a whole new kind of user. Shiny's ease of use is a bliss for a lot of new coders, including those who don't see themselves as traditional programmers.

Check it out: [Shiny for Python 1.0 Announcement](https://shiny.posit.co/blog/posts/shiny-python-1.0/)

Happy coding!

Oh no… that is just every marriage.
Re:Brutalist Churches on Friday April 26, 2024 @10:51PM (#40176717)
I would add Catedral Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro.

Same here. I just wished OP pointed to an example repo with a minimum working example.
Re:Friends don't let friends export to CSV on Monday March 25, 2024 @06:55AM (#39814670)
What is the encoding of the text file? UTF8, windows-1252?

What is the decimal delimiter “.”, “,”?

Most csv users don’t even know they have to be aware of all of these differences.

Animator was the name of the first animation software I used in 94.
Re:Observable 2.0, a static site generator for data apps on Thursday February 15, 2024 @08:43PM (#39392013)
Interesting to see ObservableHQ making strides towards dashboards, similar to what Quarto and Evidence are doing.

Observable Notebooks reactivity feels intuitive, much like spreadsheets, but the lack of self-hosting options is no-go Drawback in my work context.

Re:Quarto on Wednesday February 14, 2024 @05:44AM (#39368471)
The latest version has Typst support and allow producing pdf files much faster than any LateX distribution. Even with a complex template it compiles almost instantly and you can see the final pdf changing while you are typing.
Re:Quarto on Wednesday February 14, 2024 @05:42AM (#39368449)
Is the default template not small and fast enough for you?

It generates html in a folder and afaik it the file is self-contained, i.e. it includes in the html all 200-ish lines of js it uses, no external dependencies.

Same for me, I can play just using the keyboard not the GUI.
Re:Show HN: Keep – GitHub Actions for your monitoring tools on Tuesday September 05, 2023 @08:47AM (#37390926)
Check temporal.io, they are used by Uber, Netflix, Datadog...
Oh gosh. You didn’t get the joke. It is a reference to Monty Python.

Interesting. I hated it. I usually like Lex Friedman’s interviews even (or even more when) I disagree with the interviewee. I agreed a bunch with Holtz but I could not build empathy.

I tried, but for me he is too childish despite his undeniable intelligence. I am sorry for him.

GitHub Copilot is (or once was) a 13b model, according to Nat Friedman in the scale.ai interview. (https://youtu.be/lnufceCxwG0)
Re:Mojo – a new programming language for AI developers on Thursday May 04, 2023 @07:17AM (#35813731)
What are the implications for Intel, Apple, NVIDIA? How much can Mojo helps leveling the competition landscape?
Re:Mojo – a new programming language for AI developers on Thursday May 04, 2023 @07:09AM (#35813668)
Open-cv would benefit tremendously by migrating to mojo.
Re:Mojo – a new programming language for AI developers on Thursday May 04, 2023 @07:06AM (#35813644)
I can’t wait to see fast.ai-next in mojo :-)
He is not directly doing this. He is using Forefront.ai that offer GPT4 for free in their service. So, the guy is ripping off some VC money, not directly OpenAI's. The question remaining is what is Forefront.ai business model?

Re:Pelé, the Global Face of Soccer, Dies at 82 on Thursday December 29, 2022 @07:05PM (#34179856)
It is almost impossible to explain his role in Brazilian culture. All great Brazilian writers of the 20th century adored him. Musics about his goals. Expressions we use to this day( like “ gol de placa”). He was also very conscious in separating his public persona, Pele, from his private one, Edson, the man.
+1 here. I have already seen some videos with people toying with surrealdb and it looks amazing. But I need a offline-first (local-first) solution. Recently, TinyDB was posted here at HN. I also heard of InstantDB (react only).

Discourse is a web app that does that. The url should be the place to keep navigational state.
Re:Sufficient Decentralization for Social Networks on Tuesday July 12, 2022 @11:28AM (#32071348)
I also was reading your post with the mindset "how to regulate social networks". I strongly believe that all big organizations need regulation. It is not easy to regulate social networks, but heck maybe it wasn't easy to regulate telephony or energy.
