I also shoot on a Fuji X-T5, and find C1 to be noticeably better than LR. Would be interesting to see how DaVinci stacks up since this release includes support for their sensors.

That’s what I was afraid of. Thank you for the answer! Seems like I’ll be stuck with C1 for a little longer. Their sessions and culling tools I’ve found quite helpful for the occasional event shoots I do, and I don’t think I’d be ready to give it up-even if it would save me a little on the subscription.
Re:Google no longer provides direct URLs in search results on Saturday September 12, 2026 @07:46AM (#49671361)
Same here. Been paying for Kagi for probably a year or so, but I find that it hasn’t really been able to keep up with at least my personal expectations. It feels quite slow (which I don’t remember it always being), and the search result quality is not always the best. On top of that, the 10$/mo is a little steep for me, given that their assistant and maps are quite sub-par in my opinion. I would have preferred them to focus more on the search experience, and less on the other products. Or give me a cheaper plan for only unlimited search without the other products.

Have anyone tried using this as a substitute for CaptureOne/Lightroom? Any experiences? I'm aware it's a quite new feature added to the suite, but would love to one day stop paying the pricey subscriptions the other two alternatives demand

I helped my girlfriend use the MCP server as she had a project where all the media files had been moved to a new source location, and using Codex, it managed to hunt down all the files and stitch it all back together. Ended up saving quite a lot of manual boring labour, and was quite cool to see it work in real time:)
Re:Abuse of the nullish coalescing operator in JS/TS on Saturday November 29, 2025 @01:32PM (#46089670)
This is exactly what I was trying to communicate in the article. You've put it in a way clearer way here though. Thank you:)

Author here. It is. I did a poor job explaining what I meant by this. I tried to elaborate https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46089466. I'll also update the article to reflect this:) Thanks for pointing it out:)
Re:Abuse of the nullish coalescing operator in JS/TS on Saturday November 29, 2025 @01:07PM (#46089491)
I definitely do agree with this! It's a very helpful operator in a lot of cases. I think the two cases you point out are prime examples of cases where I would prefer _not_ to encounter them.
Re:Abuse of the nullish coalescing operator in JS/TS on Saturday November 29, 2025 @01:05PM (#46089466)
Author here. I believe I did a poor job of explaining what I meant by this sentence in the article. Sorry about that.

As you, and many others, have pointed out, `?? ""` does not do what `.unwrap` does. `unwrap_or_default` would have been a better comparison for what it actually does. What I tried, and failed, to communicate, was that both can be used to "ignore" the unwanted state, `None` or `undefined`.

I guess the rust equivalent to what I would like to see is `nullable_var?`, and not unwrap as that will panic. That would be equivalent to the `?? throw new Error` feature mentioned further up in the comments.

Based on the status page it should be back to operational.

For a hosted alternative, Dash0 also uses Perses for their dashboards.

Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (October 2025) on Monday October 13, 2025 @10:02AM (#45568462)
I'm working on a TUI for viewing OpenTelemetry traces locally to help me debug distributed applications that use OTEL. It's currently in its infancy, but I'm already able to get a little use out of it. https://github.com/FredrikAugust/otelly
