What you said applies to race and sex. People expect their engineers to look and act like RMS, so minorities tend to have to "prove" they belong.
With exceptions for car companies that have fewer than 100 million drivers of course. Driving is not dangerous when small companies make cars.
Driving is proven to be very dangerous but our government still encourages us to brave traffic every day.
People decide they break the law for the right reasons all the time. Do you not speed while driving?

I really wonder what this means in terms of how the homeless or the elderly are treated.

In order for someone's existence to be acceptable, they should provide value? Monetary value? Or does human life intrinsically have value, making this a tautology...?

It may sound different, such as "That's a great question"

Based on the rest of that sentence you quoted, it is the most among midwestern states.

Your virtual assistant is not going to remind you of things that you did not devote to telling a virtual assistant in the first place. Your spouse is more likely to help fill in the unintentional places you might have missed in your intentional day to day actions.

That assumes no corruption. Hard to partake in the democratic process when kickbacks and bought votes exist.

The people you were delivering the system to were not informed of the design spec being followed/ignored?
Occams Razor: he wants to be loved/heralded because he does not garner respect in real life. See his failed marriages, Thai cave feud, and the many times on Twitter he has silenced people who criticize him.
The people "in power" have a vested interest in making the most-walked parts crime-free. That is not the case in SF where the wealthy don't have a Manhattan to interact with on a daily basis.
> That said, there is still an appetite for talent at well-funded, early-stage companies in emerging areas, including electric-vehicle batteries, as the auto industry shifts away from gas-powered cars, and artificial intelligence, a technology with the potential to change industries that has prompted a global race to build AI products.

My Wellfound (previously AngelList) inbox begs to differ!

It is a question of investment. You move to SF to make some cash and leave, never really investing in your neighborhood or in policies that work on a longer scale. And that each area/city functions as its own fiefdom where you can privatize gains and externalize losses (e.g. tech companies and property owners making fortunes but not putting the gains into building nearby housing or comprehensive, safe public transportation) without a need or an incentive to invest in ways that fabously wealthy cities tend to. There are cities where you feel the citizens are truly invested in. SF is not that.
SF: come for the riches you can make only in a bifurcated ecosystem, leave because of the grim realities of living in a bifurcated ecosystem existing only of the wealthy and the destitute
Surely this technology will be used for the benefit of humanity. By 2030 we will be working 15 hour weeks and all people will have homes!

Some people need to use the bathroom frequently or have dietary needs requiring specific food prep. Even then, I wouldn't want to share a kitchen with someone who cooks things I can't stand the smell of.
Re:Segment Anything Demo by Meta AI on Wednesday April 05, 2023 @02:09PM (#35458222)
They likely meant that Meta was established in part due to the Facebook name being tarnished in the first place.
Why is it discouraging to hear that people are not taking sw jobs seriously when these jobs are now relatively hard to come by?
You don't remember the crossover episode with Dominic Toretto?
As someone laid off and having trouble finding a single job, that is rather discouraging to hear.
