I like it. Very nice recursion.

I'm tracking the "sparks", perhaps about five a week (through beeminder.com), with very high fluctuations. Interesting to look back at them in retrospect.

All those insights are then consolidated into an "identity framework" through draftin.com. Shortcomings are then expressed as quantitative goals on beeminder.com and tracked (using RescueTime for time-related goals and binary variables for almost everything else).

This method has actually had quite an important impact on how I perceive myself.

I should add that browsing Wikipedia while eating lunch has made me a nutrition expert, to the surprise of many people. Eating lunch at the desk can also have its advantages.

Lunch and dinner breaks are my most treasured time periods on many days. Whenever I remember the good old times at university, I think of my walks outside the library - and along the seashore - while taking a rest from studying to eat dinner.

Since you're referring to the Wikipedia page, you are probably aware that there is a reasonable economic answer related to transaction costs and asymmetric information:

"Instead, for Coase the main reason to establish a firm is to avoid some of the transaction costs of using the price mechanism. These include discovering relevant prices (which can be reduced but not eliminated by purchasing this information through specialists), as well as the costs of negotiating and writing enforceable contracts for each transaction (which can be large if there is uncertainty). Moreover, contracts in an uncertain world will necessarily be incomplete and have to be frequently re-negotiated. The costs of haggling about division of surplus, particularly if there is asymmetric information and asset specificity, may be considerable."

Reis et al. (1990): American college students attributed smiling persons greater sincerity, sociability, and competence but less independence and masculinity.
