What often happens to me is my chromecast audio doesn't show up on my desktop chrome but does on my other devices and I have to reconnect my computer's wifi and restart the browser for the chromecast to appear. Really wish they have a simple "refresh" button that lets you try checking for more chromecasts.
Re:Developers join call for GitHub to cancel its ICE contract on Wednesday December 04, 2019 @12:03PM (#21703992)
I call for them to not do that. So Developer calls for GitHub to ignore the SJWs.

The first amendment doesn't condone hate speech, nor does it disallow it
>Lots of people look at a Macbook and see an overpriced computer that costs a few hundred dollars more than a similarly equipped PC, albeit in a pretty case.

I was shopping for a dev laptop about a year or two ago, and it was more like double the price rather than just a few hundred dollars more.

God I hate open offices. So tiring.
How does one find govt jobs using modern tech stacks?
Re:Amazon stores Alexa transcripts indefinitely on Wednesday July 03, 2019 @08:32AM (#20343704)
That's probably a "soft delete" and hidden. Really doubtful that it's actually deleted.

What's wrong with Laravel or Symfony?

I'd imagine it's a token in the request headers

And it's been subpar the last few years anyway. They wasted Peter Capaldi's awesome potential.
Re:Google cans the Chromecast Audio on Friday January 11, 2019 @04:53PM (#18887529)
Not really the same. With chromecast audio I could cast google play music, spotify, etc. to it from my device and the chromecast itself would be streaming the music. With bluetooth you have to stream music to it from your device so it uses up the device's battery life and also the audio quality would be degraded.

Volokhonsky and Peavar translations are a meme carried out to sell more books. There are other translations that are better and truer to the original text.
I do the exact same thing, so you're not alone
Also, there's a lot of traffic. Not as bad as LA or DC but still can be horrendous.

Why should the rest of the world care about anything anyone ever says

>It doesn't matter if an algorithm deems that my neighbour finds "relevant" an article on "here's why we should deport all the Poles", it's not an acceptable thing for Facebook to be showing people and they need to take responsibility for it.

An echo chamber is less acceptable

Re:Stephen Hawking has died on Wednesday March 14, 2018 @01:58PM (#16586834)
The new Cosmos had way too much animation. Hopefully season 2 is without Seth McFarlane so we can get some inspiring science without cartoons (which detracts from the inspiring quality, imo).

Have you tried this tmux plugin? https://github.com/tmux-plugins/tmux-resurrect I use it all the time at work and at home

>Why? pipenv handles dependency- and virtual-environment-management in a way that’s very intuitive (to me), and fits perfectly with my desired workflow.

Why specifically do you use it instead of virtualenv (+virtualenvwrapper)?

Re:Americans are spending less on clothing on Wednesday February 07, 2018 @10:04AM (#16324813)
I'm 6'2" and 180lbs and large still fits baggy on me most of the time. Which is annoying for gifts because most people think the same way and gift large or extra-large clothes without gift receipts so I end up having to drive them over to the salvation army.
Considering the article is from two years ago it's not such a shock now.

I guess I'm one of the few people that prefer the orange icon.
