nowadays, with LLMs, everybody is calling themselves a developer doing any kind of project.
Welcome to the future!
You have $2.9M just for this? Wow.
I'm learning on how to move away from computing into violin making and repairs.
I should have studied a 'real' topic instead of computing, and then tackle issues therein (ie, in my chosen topic) using programming as a TOOL to help me realise things, and experiment.
All my career is about computing, for computing sake, now I find myself in trouble in this AI-driven world as I don't have a base to stand on, with interesting problems, and a lot of programming is just being 'generated' in a black-box.
And no, I'm not talking about becoming a major software ARCHITECT, solving deep infrastructure problems and whatnot. I'm thinking on day-to-day issues.
Whatever, just a minor rant - if it helps future generations realising that and change course, my job is done.

Yes, sir, blog away, we need your wisdom.

Haven't you heard about the millions of dollars trying to 'convince' the CEO of doing so?
Just to be accurate then: "it" refers to Mozilla (all and any products).
It'll be the last straw for me.

The strange case of "TLA+" topics reaching HN's Front Page without any reason.
I guess the whole discussion (in 1963, in 2025), is about 'knowledge acquisition' (or lack thereof). He mentions the Brazilian students memorising 'stuff' without understanding - as a former Brazilian educator, I can tell you that when I was working there in 2010-2020, it hadn't changed, and, to my point, got worse in late years. I think a lot of students care about 'getting a diploma' without actually learning something, but my main concern is about fairness: how could I praise good students from 'devious' students altogether?
Fast-forward to 2025.
The same problems still exist, exacerbated by the prevalence of LLMs and no detection mechanisms whatsoever.
The recipe for disaster.
Just noticed this - will read it later.
Looks interesting.

Go play lute with the angles, noble sir.
Working with a partner has never been a problem, don't worry.
RIP Bob Redford, your movies will stay with us forever.
What is the `truth` really?
That question has 'plagued' philosophy since its inception.
Good post to make us think, thanks for posting.
AI isn’t replacing people: leaders are.
The real disruption is whether we use it to multiply human potential, or to shrink it in the name of control.
That's not the way science is supposed to work...

To tell you a brutal truth, I dislike any timed game.
He'll be highly missed, one great actor.
Loved him on "The Saint".
> Scientific papers and processes that are lost forever as publishers fail, their websites shut down.
I don't think the big scientific publishers (now, in our time) will ever fail, they are RICH!
I only keep it (Prime) for Amazon Prime Video really - there are some videos in the catalogue that I enjoy watching again, and new stuff is generally good.
It's not about 1-day delivery for me, or anything else. And £9.90 will not make any effect on my month expenses, not as much as the energy impact on my household, which doubled in one year.
Automated AI code writing to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary: Apple is fixing a speech-to-text issue where saying "racist" sometimes transcribed as "Trump." The company blames a speech recognition error, but experts suspect software tampering. The BBC couldn't replicate the mistake, suggesting a fix is in place. This follows another AI-related blunder where Apple suspended faulty news summaries. The company also announced a $500bn U.S. investment, including a Texas data centre for AI.

Yes! That's a very good objective.
I am too studying a lot and trying to build one from scratch. It has been very humbling and enlightening experience, something that AI will never replace ;)
Kudos sir, and best of success. Check Maestronet (Luthier section, ie, Peg Box) for insightful comments and suggestions.
