Scarcity leads to innovation? Sort of like evolutionary pressure makes species evolve?
I only watched the first few minutes and thought no way touch is that simple! It isn’t. Because most of these utilities have a lot of scar tissue handling years of various edge cases and conditions. Something to be said for software engineering. If you try to build for all the edge conditions then getting a somewhat working example out would take too long

I did appreciate the ways he used the man pages to build out the tools.

We used the calculator back in the 80s

If you think about it instead of pulling out your phone to calculate something back then you could use this

There was a major left / liberal takeover of most of the subs when Trump was being re elected

It wants you to have a conservative viewpoint. But it doesn't ban you if you join like say r/AdviceAnimals which 2 years ago many subreddits were taken over when Trump was running for office again. r/AdviceAnimals and others were banning those that were members of r/conservative.

Reddit took action in March 5, 2026 to stop that practice.

There is a policy of ideological gatekeeping by certain Moderators.

I had the same thought it’s a great example of why StackOverflow does work in this case.

I was banned from subreddits for belonging to r/conservative. Mods wanted me to disavow that subreddit to atone for the sin of belonging to that subreddit.

What happens when a bird or predator eats the Monarch? Are these tags safe for animal consumption?

It’s hard to find any really good site for these numbers because it is highly politicized. Looking at this, assuming it’s correct, paints a different picture:

“Over the past decade, the fastest growth has come from rapidly industrializing economies.”

It seems that countries have to evolve through this stage before things get better.

“Meanwhile, several advanced economies have moved in the opposite direction. Countries like the UK, Germany, and Japan have significantly reduced their carbon output, largely by phasing out coal and expanding renewable energy.”

State of Florida requires a list of bids to be posted and before a Board meeting. The motions on whom was selected is required to be documented in the meeting minutes.

Yes, per Fl Statute 720 any quotes/bids for contracts exceeding 10% of the budget requires competitive bids but doesn’t set a number like 3. Two is practical minimum.

But competitive bids for attorneys, architects, CPAs, community association managers, or sole source vendors where there is only one in the area that does the work etc are not required. Like say a business that is the only one in the area that does aquatic maintenance on ponds.

Anything else in here is just anecdotal

Competitive bids are only required if it exceeds 10% of budget in Florida. You still have to get quotes ahead of making a budget or it makes no sense. For example, you can’t go for a high bidder just-because. It has to be in budget. Then, people have to be elected to serve and usually it’s 1-2 year terms. If someone doesn’t like how the HOA is run then they can always try to run against the current Board members running for re election.
Where I live, it’s all within walking distance for the HOA to include a gym. You can also vote in the clubhouse

If it had a convenience store nearby, it would be like a little village

HOAs have direct control over spending and don’t need to meet the same bidding standards.
