News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

I see two trends recently: 1. low skill people using it for trivial projects. 2. devs writing out the whole app into memory/context down to the names of the files, interfaces, technologies, preparing the testing, compilation framework and then hand-holding the llm to arrive (eventually) at an acceptable solution. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4_YYrIKLac

80% (99%?) of what you hear about llms are from the first group, amplified by influencers.

I'm guessing people feel the productivity boost because documenting/talking to/guiding/prompting/correcting an LLM is less mentally taxing than actually doing the work yourself even though time taken or overall effort is the same. They underestimate the amount of work they've had to put in to get something acceptable out of it.

Every time I consider max plan or a yearly sub I remind myself that it's their standard operating procedure to degrade their products after launch.
I didn't say anything about original attacker continuing the attack.

How did they prevent threat actors presenting themselves as volunteers, were you vetted?

I'm surprised people are consuming special mushrooms so frequently that they would even consider a special gadget for this purpose.
None of them scream Blade Runner 2049 to me.
You don’t have to be a magician. I was impressing other kids doing exactly this, you just toss so the coin goes high but turns slowly and catch it in your hand rather than let if fall to the ground. After not so many tries you get a pretty good intuition on how you have to throw to get the desired result.
If this is legit it would be one of the most impressive things I've seen in many years.

After heading the company that created enormous psychological and sociological issues in the world and was/is involved in shady, anti privacy, illegal, anti-competition dealings she just gets to retire and focus on her "philanthropic" work. She's the modern equivalent of a robber baron.

Ask HN: Tools for Planning a Wedding

I'm planning a wedding and need recommendations for project management tools I can use. At the moment I have set up a Google Sheets with a budget calculations, contacts, Q&A, nextcloud for file storage (contracts, offers etc) and kanban board for task tracking. It would be good to have something more powerful and integrated.
