Question: In the UK, thanks open banking, couldn't you use a compatible bank like monzo and load all the other bank accounts via open banking into that single app?

A few days ago a distant family member shared some old photos of my great grandmother and a few details about her that I thought would be interesting to preserve. So, that got me thinking. What’s the best way to preserve this data for the future generations? I’m aware there is software for family trees – both free and commercial, closed and open source. But for some reason they didn’t feel right. So I tried to think why not – what could be better.
I'm not a browser expert so please feel free to share suggestions or to send PRs to the repo.
I'm improving my web app to learn languages with short stories:
https://webbu.app. I've been making it easier to track your progress, hear pronunciation of words, and adding more advanced levels.
Interesting! Maybe making this info avilable to local LLMs would be useful too. Side thought: when we plan big trips I tend to pre-populate google maps with loads of markers of interesting points. I would love to be able to save this offline and combine them with other sources like youtube/instagram clips offline somehow.
I can't sign because the cloudflare verifier says I'm not human...
why do people care so much? it's just an agentic loop
Apart from the fact that some countries don't allow dual citizenships so you would loose the other one:
- cost: ~2k
- time: 2 exams
- paperwork required to keep other nationalities in some cases
- after feb 2026, you can only re-enter the UK with a British passport (more cost) or with extra paperwork to enable your other passport (more costs ~500)
I wish Azure would provide acces to gpt-5.x models in the EU datazone... Stuck in 4.x.
Also I don't see any of the big cloud providers (apart from Azure) saying they are bound to professional secrecy acts (e.g. the S203 in Germany)
How do people get more than 2tb of backup/cloud storage? it seems expensive to pay 20+ per month for this. 2tb+ should be very common these days?
also usbc in iphones! finally we can just carry one cable
+1 to "We audit financial markets. We should audit attention markets too"
My attempts always had validation issues that stopped the ads from running but I never figured it out and stopped trying
Looks very nice and I'm tempted. Can you disable Bluetooth while not in use?
looks cool, are you planning an Android version? what was the biggest challenge in making this?
Just found this from Azure which specifically talks about Section 203 from Germany:
https://assetsprod.microsoft.com/mpn/data-secrecy-amendment-...> Microsoft is aware of legal obligations with regard to allowing access to Customer’s clients’ information and that non-compliance with such obligations can entail criminal sanctions for the parties involved (cf. in particular §§ 203, 204 StGB) (imprisonment or fines).
> Microsoft shall be obliged to maintain confidentiality in accordanc...
Would be great to find something like this from AWS or GCP.

Hi HN, thanks for having a look! We are building productivity apps for doctors and lawyers in Germany and are a bit confused by the requirements of Section 203 (professional secrets). I have high hopes that someone here can help us answer our questions.Section 203 (professional secrets) [1][2] states that companies must only use providers that offer the same level of secrecy or are...
agreed it's not the same league, but it's still annoying for tiny companies that don't have much revenue
yeah that is true, but still really annoying for the tiny companies I talked to
the UK seems to be going in this same bad direction now "As part of our journey to modernise and digitise our filing routes, all accounts must be filed using commercial software from 1 April 2027."
https://changestoukcompanylaw.campaign.gov.uk/changes-to-acc...you used to be able to do this yourself on the gov website for free
Very cool. What did you see to do the screen recordings?
but this one is in "The Last Kingdom"
+1. I stopped using google authenticator when they randomly wiped the app for me and lost all the codes.
Very cool! Will explore it a bit :)
Does this apply to non-resident owners/founders (big shareholders that don't live in Germany) of German companies when they sell their shares?
