Re:What Is Glitter? on Saturday December 22, 2018 @05:38PM (#18742890)
I'm guessing floor tiles/fake stone benchtops. Huge market that would require a lot of glitter and it's not something you initially think would contain glitter. The expensive fake stone benchtops would feel "cheaper" if you knew that it was just glitter making them look good.
There's really no issue. If your card is stolen and fraudulent charges made the bank will reverse them. Having used chip payments for years now, I couldn't imagine living without them.
Re:Ask HN: What projects are you working on? on Saturday June 28, 2014 @09:28PM (#7960058)
As a side project I've been working on http://saved.io a simple way to store bookmarks across devices

Re:Ask HN: What are you working on and why is it cool? on Sunday October 27, 2013 @01:12AM (#6620867)
Saved.io (http://saved.io)

It's cool because it's solves a problem I was having in a really simple and elegant way.

Re:Show HN: Saved.io on Wednesday September 25, 2013 @03:34AM (#6443162)
thanks I'll fix it.
Re:Show HN: Saved.io on Wednesday September 25, 2013 @12:29AM (#6442639)
I built this tool because I was sick of having bookmarks stored my an individual browser or having to install a plugin. This is the fastest and easiest way to save bookmarks I could come up with.
Re:Using Trello to Keep Track of Ideas on Thursday July 04, 2013 @12:55AM (#5989197)
i love workflowy too although I find myself using Trello more often. I keep my weekly schedule on workflowy.
Re:Using Trello to Keep Track of Ideas on Thursday July 04, 2013 @12:53AM (#5989192)
thanks for the feedback - all my ideas are to solve problems that I have come across. All my apps past and present have been built because I couldn't find a solution that worked for me. And luckily other people seem to have the same problems and I've managed to attract awesome investors.

p.s - penmusic is nothing to with a pen, rather its a feature i was toying with to integrate music streaming on my pen.io product

Re:Ask HN: do you keep a stash of ideas? on Monday June 03, 2013 @07:42AM (#5812624)
I have a trello board with two columns. One has all of the ideas I come up with (title, and short description on how I plan to implement the idea). If I start work on an idea, I move it into the other column, just so I can keep track of it.

Ever couple of weeks I go through the list of ideas and change the order of the items, putting the ideas which I want to work on first towards the top.

Re:Ask HN: do you keep a stash of ideas? on Monday June 03, 2013 @05:31AM (#5812217)
Not publicly as I usually end up working on them in some way or another. I use Trello to keep them organised.
I forgot this setting existed. Just turned it on... much, much better.
Re:Startup Australia on Thursday March 14, 2013 @11:34PM (#5379096)
Agreed - but I know of many quality startups that have moved to the U.S from Australia (including mine). I think the bigger problem is lack of quality Angel investors, VC's and incubators. The largest angel network in Australia still has a ridiculous and immoral pay-to-pitch flow. They simply just don't get it. And the VC situation is even worse.
Re:Startup Australia on Thursday March 14, 2013 @10:58PM (#5379011)
This article is absolutely spot on.

I often get asked why I chose to incorporate in the U.S and take investor money from U.S based investors and not from Australians. This is article explains why.

There is a lot of talk in Australia but very little action - a lot of people calling themselves Angels, VC's, incubators etc. without actually funding any companies, or any decent companies.

Re:Posterous will turn off on April 30 on Friday February 15, 2013 @05:50PM (#5229176)
Not really a direct alternative as it's only for single posts, but I better plug Pen.io
Re:Facebook Connect was down on Thursday February 07, 2013 @09:32PM (#5185970)
I just removed the FB connect code from Pen.io - Causing automatic redirects for all logged in users. Luckily it was easy to kill for us and won't cause users any issue with logging in.
