Re:Chef extends open-source licensing to all its software on Tuesday April 02, 2019 @09:41AM (#19553926)
Any reason to use Chef instead of Ansible ?

I think one of major reason for being powerful is its bases on pure mathematical foundations.

A good starting point could be understanding https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declarative_programming
And West ! failed to accept real democracy when they saw that real democracy is very dangerous and unacceptable and not aligned with their interests.
Your last sentence diminished the value of first sentence. The countries your mentioned are just different not authoritarian and probably are so because of too-much-fingering by imperialist countries.
Well, then why not standardize them ?
well said !
I often see this word "social control", I wonder what would be your strategy to escape from technological developments and use of such tools by states to control masses. I don't see there is any escape and these are getting more powerful and effective with the time. So science and technology has same effects and I see there is no escape for humanity except to find shelter in religious camp to find reason and morality etc ...
I am surprised we don't hate scientists who developed devastating weapons ! Instead I see otherwise. I think there are also extremists in secular camps by this definition.
Yes this is excellent feature and working very well
This just sums up the behavior of both countries.

Its always good to have different perspective.
> There are some good ideas on architecture, but they are presented with too much fluff and imprecision

Would you like to highlight some of those?

I agree with you, now its normal practice to blame someone without evidence. Intelligence communities around the world are major source of "fake news" and media manipulate. My understanding is that "whistleblowers" are part of experiments done by intelligence communities to gauge public response on certain activities(might be illegal ,immoral) and with passage of time we forget and accept theses practices as new normal.

Probably for not showing consistency :)
Is this legal ? And how do we know if there is such thing ?
I was thinking if there is intentional slow-down by carrier, as it takes sometimes a minute to open a web page ( over mobile) while google works fine

Ask HN: Any obvious reason for duckduckgo vs. Google speed difference on mobile?

Over mobile network (4G) I am unable to open duckduckgo from time to time and google is as usual very fast. I checked duckduckgo is not down and on my desktop duckduckgo works fine. I was thinking if there is any priority assigned to google requests by my network carrier and intentionally blocking duckduckgo. Using firefox over android, Pakistan

Re:A Q&A with Mark Zuckerberg About Data Privacy on Thursday March 22, 2018 @08:31AM (#16648005)
We need to stop complaining about how evil Facebook is, and start talking about personal responsibility.

I like your standing but there is one more aspect to look at e.g these companies have big data , money and can hire smart people to use that data in a way beyond our imagination. And with backdoor channels to secret agencies and govt. institutions they can manipulate public opinion, as this is the current case.

Probably complaining is first step towards greater personal responsibility and to educate all the users who have no idea what is happening around them. Like in the case of tobacco, tobacco companies suppressed scientific research reaching general public through manipulation of media.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

well said

These dirty trick they always play when they see that fair play will not given them any advantage in their economical and political goals. All the yardsticks they use be superior are b.s now I think, like democracy, freedom of press/speech, human rights etc. Instead they are least democratic and free states run by conglomerate of capitalist like selling their rights with soap and diapers.
You've been rumbled. Jog on

My argument was two pronged.

1) UK lied in several cases or most of the cases and now UK==lier so Once a lier always a lier

2) Its not me or Russian who rumbled , but instead it is and it was West( France in case of Libya, UK in case of Iraq, US in case of Syria) has be rumbled.

Murdering ex-spies on the streets of Salisbury with chemical weapons certainly seems like the appropriate response, yes.

Its not appropriate response, that is way everyone is skeptical. Why use a missile when you can kill the bird with a slingshot ?

That's not a war crime in itself.

Do you want to be get hurt by it ? I am not suggesting, but that is still killing and trespassing international boundaries .
