> This is necessary as (a) the 5h limit allows us to smoothen the load on our compute, allowing to keep the plan generous in terms of weekly usage

Seems fair, but then maybe the 5h usage should also drain slower during off-peak hours? Perhaps it already does.

> and (b) users on the Plus plan are relatively casual and new users, but then also just accidentally eat through their whole weeks usage and then are confused, making it not a great experience.

Wouldn't this one be fixed by making the 5h limit a guardrail you can opt out of? If so, then this doesn't work as justification for a mandatory limit.

Anecdotally, Gemini Flash is the leader for a particular use case of mine and has been since at least version 2.5. But now there's also Luna as the first real competitor thanks to the price cut.

My worry is that this is a zero-sum game and when Gemini catches up on coding, it'll regress to the mean in other areas.

No good AI would cherry-pick data to this extent. Only people are capable of that

It is public, and more! There's even an interface allowing you to run your own queries directly against a synchronized copy: https://query.vndb.org/browse
Presumably because a good portion of the target audience are less technical users, and there's no reason to be throwing extra (ex-)initialisms at them. "Zorin Connect" is clearly something that will connect my Zorin OS to something. "KDE Connect" is something that might perhaps connect me to a "KDE", but what's a "KDE" anyway and why would I ever need to connect to it?
Re:GPT 4.5 level for 1% of the price on Sunday March 16, 2025 @11:29AM (#43379799)
GPT-4.5's advantages are supposed to be in aspects that aren't being captured well in current benchmarks, so the claim would be shaky even if ERNIE's benchmarks actually showed better performance.
For me: no Multi-Account Containers, full uBlock Origin about to be disabled.

You've implied it's impossible to give such evidence and then you've immediately proved yourself wrong by giving it.

But anyway, they're not asking for evidence that something isn't being displayed. They're asking for evidence that 'Starting on January 19, 2025 Facebook's internal policy makers decided that Linux is malware and labelled groups associated with Linux as being "cybersecurity threats"'.

Re:Converting Markdown to ePub or Mobi Using Pandoc on Thursday April 22, 2021 @04:46AM (#26900365)
Unfortunately, the renderer that gets used will sometimes itself depend on the file. For example, if you transfer the generated Mobi file to a Kindle as the article says, it will get rendered using an inferior renderer (in terms of kerning, for example) compared to the renderer that would've been used had the file been a KFX ("Kindle Format 10").
> Closed-source russian web-browser

That's only slightly less unacceptable than a closed-source american web-browser.
