Multi-agent coordination is an engineering problem characterized by the inevitable emergence of human-like social pathologies - such as bureaucratic inertia.

> I see some of the best ideas coming from the younger generation that have not yet been in the job market.

The views of these business leaders betray their own lack of vision, they are barking up the wrong tree.

The ability to think differently is not the preserve of the young. Instead of only hiring a bunch of greenhorns they should identify and cultivate people who are idea generators and flexible thinkers, of any age group, starting inside their own organization.

If you, as a business leader, are not stimulating a culture of innovation and instead maintain the status quo of traditional hierarchical roles where managers become gatekeepers of ideas, and everyone is protecting their own little domains, then you are the problem. Shit organizations will quickly turn original-thinking young people into corporate drones.

A random book from the collection looks interesting: Correction by Thomas Bernhard.

Described as “a mesmerising, claustrophobic novel about obsession, genius and the impossibility of perfection. Structured in two enormous, uninterrupted blocks of prose, it follows an unnamed narrator reconstructing the life of his dead friend Roithamer, before becoming absorbed in his manuscripts. Sentences spiral, repeat and contradict themselves, creating the sensation of being trapped inside an endlessly turning mind. Roithamer is modelled partly on Ludwig Wittgenstein, particularly his intellectual austerity and obsessive pursuit of perfection, reflected in his design of an extraordinary house for his sister. A darkly comic, exhilarating and exhausting masterpiece.”

Adding to my ‘want to read’ list now …

Re:The Other Epidemic: Trying to get off benzodiazepines on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @09:29PM (#50174968)
I was prescribed diazepam and it was an important part of my healing when I suffered a back injury. The doctor prescribed the 'holy trinity' for severe back pain: diclofenac for anti inflammatory, cocodamol for pain and diazepam to control muscle spasms and help me sleep. It worked like magic.

The doctor gave me the minimum amount of pills to get me through the initial chronic period, 7 days, and I was very grateful to be made comfortable.

I was lucky that my back healed quickly, even after a few days on the drugs I detected a feeling of dependency creeping up.

TDK SA C-90 were my favorites - excellent sound quality and durability, not too expensive.

I believe Spotify has some blame in the devaluation of streaming music by stuffing playlists with (the blandest) music that they commission directly from artists in order to avoid paying royalties to record labels.
Interesting, thanks, will keep an eye on this

GLM 5.3 flash has been good as my default profile Hermes bot, after I readjusted its memory to point to a couple of key skills.

I got some great coding results with GLM 5.2, and 5.3 Flash is supposedly almost as good, so I will be trying it out soon for day to day tasks as the post advises.

Profound, your comment provoked this thought: we know that AI in organizations is disruptive, but we still don’t understand some of the shifting patterns of power, communications, agency, etc.

If AI is not well-suited for traditional models of stratified management then maybe we need different models of bureaucracy?

Are you thinking of Nash? a standalone editable note as HTML that was featured on HN some time ago. https://keepworking.github.io/nash/
Sharing HTML files with embedded Javascript is problematic: iOS users can't open the files directly, and have to save the file and then 'open with ... '.

Great point, the shit is going to get more pervasive for sure.

But also, there is the enablement of new fields of original and creative endeavor: I think we can already see this in some of the brilliant and useful apps being made, often by solo 'teams'.

I don't want to play down the harmful effects AI, but the flip side is that the opportunities for original ideas are many and varied.

Re:Ask HN: How do you manage skills files? on Monday September 07, 2026 @09:35AM (#49598293)
I read somewhere that Boris (created Claude Code) recommends deleting skills, and hooks every so often and then observe how the LLM performs without them.

Maybe better to periodically prune: tweak some skills, shorten some, delete some.
