Re:How I Experience Web Today on Monday August 23, 2021 @09:21PM (#28284098)
I'm sympathetic to the point being made, but amused that a script and cookie blocker snarled things up early on. And also impressed that they used the actual notification APIs and cookie banner standards with enough fidelity that my extensions hooked it.
I use Today on iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/today-habit-tracker/id105529...

It can back up its DB to Dropbox, which I've used in a few small automation projects

Re:Ask HN: How do you view large JSON files? on Saturday July 09, 2016 @10:17PM (#12064273)
This. I use the Ruby REPL, but same principle.

You have to be a little careful about not accidentally printing out the whole thing to stdout, but after its loaded into memory you can check keys at a given level, drill into the substructure, etc.

Re:Ask PG: Postmortem of the outage? on Monday January 06, 2014 @10:52PM (#7015362)

My only counterargument for now; Bitpay https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-exchange-rates

I've recent been using bitcoin as money for lots of things. easiest way to cash them out

If they could somehow get a hold of the GPU and you had the equivalent of 10 decent gaming PCs connected at all times you'd get a little over $450 a year by my lazy calculations
