Re:NFT on OpenSea Will Steal Your IP Address on Thursday January 27, 2022 @08:15PM (#30109515)
I'm not sure what's being "stolen" here. OpenSea takes ownership of my ISP provided IP? I don't know what long term value such journalism gets

90s company who wrote code that'd run as executables in laptops. When we wrote the first version of the cloud back end, we were asked to "compile" all the scripts because "as a company policy we won't allow source code to leave company network"
Re:Ask HN: How does unlimited PTO work out in practice? on Wednesday October 24, 2018 @01:56PM (#18294761)
From an employer's perspective, they don't owe you anything. This is a good thing for them, because when your company gets acquired by another company which has different policies than your company, they won't owe you a dime. While, if your company has a policy of 20 days off and your company got acquired, they owe you $$ amounting to the PTO days you haven't used up.

Source: happened in my previous company but the acquisition happened right after my 8 week vacation, so I didn't get any $$.

Having said that, I also was very lucky to have a good manager who really didn't mind how much vacation I was taking as long as the work was getting done.

Correct way of learning asyncio in Python 3.6

As I understand, there are differences between 3.4,3.5 and 3.6. I'm not sure what tutorials I should use to learn this. As in what parts have changed and what haven't.To be clear, I'm finding the official documentation quite difficult to follow along. I'm looking for sources outside the official documentation.

I feel the video should've started with a summary of things that are new, instead of thanking the community... I'm not watching a video for more than 30 seconds without a tldr first.... Wow, I feel spoilt.
The most useful thing I've found is to find something that you've used like Cassandra or Redis ... Read some tutorial on how it's supposed to be used... Question every single aspect that you aren't 100% clear about
