If anyone is moving away from Ubuntu, I suggest NixOS, especially with LLMs. You will be able to build the machine of your dreams.

Hey davismwfl, thank you x1000 for such a considered reply. I'll see about doing one of those experiments, likely with video.

Ask HN: How to get experience with scale as an engineer?

Hey everyone.Feedback that I frequently receive from prospective employers is that I don’t have experience dealing with scaling an app for many users, presumably concurrent users. This feedback comes from video streaming startups, primarily. I apply for full-stack positions, mostly. How do I get this experience without being in a situation where I have many users at my disposal?

Re:Uber Bike – A New Way to Commute or Explore on Wednesday January 31, 2018 @03:05PM (#16277057)
It appears that through their Social Bicycling program, JUMP bikes offer a $1 credit to people who lock a bike to a charging hub, rather than just a ‘dumb’ bike rack or pole. JUMP claims that bicycles typically require a charge every 48 hours. I’d assume it’ll work the same way with Uber Bike.

Keeping the conservation of energy in mind, any other method of charging isn’t feasible.

Runtastic Push-Ups on iOS counts pushups either with touch input (nose touches screen) or the proximity sensor (you get close enough but your nose doesn’t quite hit the screen).
