Looking at the affidavit [1], Executive 1 is definitely the ex-CEO.

Paragraph 18 [1] mentions Executive 1 being upset about an Apr 10th article [2] on their compensation.

The graphs are cumulative, so the total is 8 TB (1TB on 5GHz and 7TB on 2.4GHz).
tl;dr Scoot & Skip were selected.

The PDF[0] outlining SFMTA's evaluation criteria for each company application is interesting. A lot of them were rated pretty poorly, even Lime & Bird (especially) which both had a large presence before the shutdown.

Anyone able to actually purchase one? I'm just seeing a "Join waitlist" button.

Page 4 of the Scope[0] document looks particularly useful in broadly (albeit briefly) highlighting the various domains inside computer security.

Could be a nice 1 pager for highlighting some of the things I do to outsiders. Would be useful to those looking to get into this field (i.e. CS undergrad) too.

Did you read literally the first 2 sentences of the article?
Using postgrey[0] fixed this problem for me, a few months back I started getting hammered with spam and now get virtually zero.

Great read! Time to troll some of my machine learning co-workers.

A few minutes after that part in the video he shows a demo of how it "uses sensors to adjust the door opening arc" or something and discusses the height issue.

Edit: It is at 20 minutes in.

Good point! It looks like all of the rules are here[1], so as long as there is oversight by the EFF, their repo isn't compromised, someone doesn't put out a fake build, etc., we should be safe.

Also it looks like[2] some rules are built in such a way that only the protocol is changed and the domain is left as-is.

Re:My voice is my passport on Thursday February 12, 2015 @01:37PM (#9040431)
It is the same routine, because he is describing the USAA iPhone mobile app :)
There needs to be another party in there to communicate with the phone regardless, right? I simply interpret that quote to mean you can use the "switch" with a 3rd party service like Android Device Manager / Cerberus, that Qualcomm is not operating directly.

Actually, looking at the video it appears they're partnering with https://www.lookout.com/ for this.

IIRC they probably mean to detect them through how they operate on the website, rather than how they register (tracking navigation, how they upvote/downvote, and what content they post).
Quote from a previous article (so I wouldn't attribute all 8% to bots):

We’re experimentally removing CAPTCHA and using other methods for spambot detection.
We know it’s annoying for humans, and are starting to worry the bots are actually enjoying it.
Plus, our visual CAPTCHA was failing on accessibility for non-visual redditors.
Re:Rapportive clone fills void left by LinkedIn on Friday August 01, 2014 @02:19PM (#8121941)
Honestly I would just be happy with an extension that uses local storage to store notes on a per-contact basis like Rapportive used to. I don't need any other fancy features and don't want to worry about a privacy policy/ToS.
Re:For Sale: 29,656.51306529 Bitcoins on Thursday June 12, 2014 @07:00PM (#7886515)
On the contrary, virtually no exchange can currently provide that kind of liquidity, so if someone is looking to be a Bitcoin bag-holder this is a great entry point. So I wouldn't be surprised if it went for > market value.
Re:Is that photo legit? Izitru offers an answer on Tuesday May 06, 2014 @01:46AM (#7703016)
Seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. And I'm weary as to how reliable their automated methods for tamper detection are (if someone really cares they would want every image manually examined anyway).

It also seems like these two quotes are contradictory:

> It won't necessarily help you figure out if a photo shared on Facebook is too good to be true...

> ...Izitru also could help when people need to send photos to...others who would want to be sure a photo is legitimate

Re:BitIodine – Get more from the blockchain on Saturday April 26, 2014 @06:15PM (#7652958)
Neat tool. I think it could definitely be enhanced with some visuals though, maybe on the cluster page you could graph related addresses or something.
Are you sure this was due to Airbnb and not just bad residents?
Re:Linode down in Newark data center on Sunday April 13, 2014 @01:37AM (#7580360)
Interesting their reply says that, while their status page says it is due to a power outage.

Edit: Nevermind, j15e clarified.

Re:Linode down in Newark data center on Sunday April 13, 2014 @01:11AM (#7580312)
Seems like it was caused by a power outage.

1:09AM EDT (UTC -4): The Newark datacenter has suffered from a power outage. We are working on bringing Linodes back up as soon as possible.
Re:OpenSSL Security Advisory: TLS heartbeat read overrun on Tuesday April 08, 2014 @03:25AM (#7551905)
Not entirely correct, as the blog post states: > We fixed this vulnerability last week before it was made public.

Although there's still the other 103 weeks this was vulnerable to worry about.
