People discuss weights on the internet
You can also have a model generate output and then just check what was activated
If I want to do that in a generalizable way that preserves performance across all domains then am I not just back to training again?
For example pointing them at a crash dump they manage to piece together and extract information I would not even try to extract by just looking at the raw memory
Like we can even know what the future of math is this early
It’s not like you can just declare that up front, it’s something that happens naturally when people spend time using the tools
That’s the whole distinction
Isn't there a point where you're shipping too fast that the product hasn't even caught on enough yet to know what to build?
I looked at some of the games and it just looks like a Roblox clone
Invent Notion then keep adding features enterprise customers want until you're re-inventing JIRA/Confluence
Who left this stupid fence here?
"Our product won't hack you 96.6% of the time"
I’ll still go in to see what’s happening but don’t forget where you are and don’t take it too seriously
Learning that it’s all just computation has some uncomfortable philosophical implications, perhaps religious too
Doesn't that indicate its becoming _more_ true?
If I need to process a million items it still wouldn't make sense to feed them directly to the model and burn a crazy amount of tokens
Of course the model can produce code to process them on the fly but if its a repeated task why would I want that to be re-created every time, especially if I've already tested/validated it
What if your puzzle game is based around programming robots? How complex do you allow the language?
Ask HN: If the models are so good, why doesn't OpenAI just start 100 companies?
Title is a bit of an exaggeration but the question is more: if the frontier models are so good, why even sell them as your primary money maker?Couldn't OpenAI or Anthropic make a lot more money by just starting companies themselves that leverage the models and building their own products? Is selling tokens really the best strategy?Especially with commodification and prices declining wouldn't...
It’s like corporations all get the same memo and do the exact same things in lockstep
They were purchased decades ago
Sometimes it will be like 45 minutes to go somewhere 15 min away because it won’t take any highways.
