Good question. Maybe from body heat. A polymer thermoelectric converter seems like it could be a good candidate.

I don't understand why they don't just charge accounts with more than X followers. High profile brands are (currently) getting a massive amount of free advertising. I'm sure they would be willing to pay to keep up their profile.

See Mailchimp, free up to 2k subscribers, paid after that. It's so simple.

Re:Ask HN: Where do you host your NodeJS applications? on Sunday July 28, 2013 @08:04AM (#6116431)
AWS Elastic Beanstalk. I was going with the heroku route at first, until they wanted to charge me $20 a month to enable SSL support for my app!

Styling maps is just an added feature. Their main uvp is simply "maps". Competitor and alternative to Google Maps, Mapquest, etc.

What would it take to implement javascript? Is it merely trivial, or was it left out for security?
Badger does one thing, and they do it well. They also have a kick-ass API.

It looks like he's using a matrix to create cartesian coordinates in a model-view space and then performing some basic linear algebra on the points to animate it. For a primer on 3D worlds check out http://learningwebgl.com/blog/?page_id=1217 where they go over it using WebGL.
Re:Hacking The iPod: How I Earned $65K In High School on Monday April 30, 2012 @07:11PM (#3912061)
I think some terminology might be in order... net income = revenue - expenses

So, was your net income $65,000 or was your revenue $65,000?

Re:Why The US Can Beat China: The Facts About SpaceX Costs on Wednesday April 18, 2012 @10:58AM (#3858232)
I had no clue they were profitable. With "over $3 billion in revenues" and "total company expenditures ... were less than $800 million" that is quite the ROI.
Re:Free storage limits - Picasa for Google+ users on Friday July 01, 2011 @02:33PM (#2719577)
After installing Picasa you can right click an image and choose "Upload to Web Albums..." where it will automatically upload the image in the background to an album called "Drop Box" which is the "Default album for newly uploaded photos.". Picasa will then automatically open your browser to said image.

Is your company split equally 5 ways? I feel like there could be a lot of problems if one person decides they are more important than the others.
