Is this weeding out long termers (willing to wait years to vest) vs the impatient?
And it's a free sign up, not a paywall, if you won't wait for an archivist.
I thought bumping up the prime rate slowed consumer spending. But the recent price hikes are because supply is hosed (oil, tariffs), not that demand has been bidding up prices. So how is this supposed to help?
So where's the kickstarter for an open and private television manufacturing project? Who is building the Framework of open and sustainable TVs?
Four years to vest anywhere, what's the math to leave so early?
Per Thompson, after roasting everything wrong with wealth and power concentration in professional sports...
> But ameliorations are possible. Tax law could further restrict the ability to team owners to amortize. And honestly, I don’t know why some local governments shouldn’t own stakes in the professional sports teams that they often directly finance.
Is anyone drafting a manifesto reforming US sports? Local playbooks for public stadium owners? State labor laws? State taxes? Bills that toss out federal monopoly law exclusions? Laws that compensate student athletes with lifetime platinum healthcare? Not my field but it seems there should be more of a movement.
Kinda fun but the approach today is strictly oneshot. Waiting for agentswithwallets to post.
Some of the better surviving meetups focus less on a common tool than on a shared problem (like regulatory capture) or a colaborative activity (let's update our neighborhood's Wikipedia related pages).
As the cost of AI answers/work continues to soar 10x then another 10x, and you pay another 10x for corrected better answers, price pressure should slow slop's spew.
Academic skills are a vector for cite injection.
Isn't this about the IPO?
Is X political ideology extending to cursor?
so… Hold on to Your Medical Devices. (And everything else with a chip in it.)
Is there a similar drone design simulator?
Nearly all the commits are by PS. Who gets paid to work on openclaw and the ecosystem without him?
Beyond demography, Much of this depends on public policy and execution. Will more of us live in conditions that prevent a oidable death or injury? Or another way?
Wasn't there something about Jobs taking back employee stock just before he sold next to apple?
sometimes it seems folks are just making up words.

Yes, it looks like this project is starting with helping highly motivated adult learners go deep into a hard to teach/learn material. Contrast this with the Khan Academy approach at
https://www.khanmigo.ai/ targeting young students and their teachers and parents with broad assistance across subjects. Maybe they converge?
Yes. The act of parsing code for yourself, for gisting it, and thinking about it - that's what makes you think better and build skill. Discussing why and different ways of doing it with others - that builds team wisdom. AI might help with organizing a review and timeboxing, clerical support, but the actual work of the review should be left to people.
How much do domain expertise, teamwork, management/leadership, and soft skills matter in senior sw interviews?
there's legal accountability and there's moral choice. would you screw over contractors and investors to protect yourself from your decisions?
the contractors aren't the only stakeholders at risk in this choice. how do your investors feel about this situation? what's their moral compass?
Thanks for this, Nathan. Orphaned devices pose a suite of security problems. They outlast the companies that sell them, the companies that make them, the upstream suppliers of hardware and software, the companies that service and repair them. Smart building devices and power systems can run for decades. Implanted medical devices, home health devices, and hospital systems persist longer than five years and can outlast the corporations behind them.
Please address orphaned products so that security continues with a duty by the maker to sustain safety and security beyond the life of a product or its manufacturer. This is like the requiring a sale-time deposit into an independent fund to reclaim/recycle a product's waste.
Beyond the current proposal, you might require a device's IP to be put in escrow in the event of product or corporate end-of-life, allowing customers or third-parties to take up maintenance and security. (#RightToRepair #EoL)
Nearly all business bank accounts are connected to standard industry codes and other descriptions.
This is insurance for their already huge investments (and future rounds) in AI businesses. It's a pittance relative to everything else they have at risk. It's prudent since failure of small projects like these can delay work on profitable corporate efforts.
