Re:WTF Ubuntu? on Monday November 02, 2026 @12:53PM (#50340709)
I migrated all servers off Ubuntu as well due to this and slow PHP patching as well. Now running a mix of AWS Linux 2023 and Debian.
On Reddit they stated that Ondrej is aware of the issue
Re:Critical Linux kernel CVE IPv4: validate checksum_start on Thursday October 15, 2026 @10:52AM (#50104546)
There seems to be a new vulnerability in the kernel networking stack affecting most distros. Is this CVE as bad as it sounds? I can't see much information about it except the newly published CVE and Vercel's blog post.

Does anyone have more information about it? What is the requirements for it to be exploitable and how have you handled it in your stack/distro to protect your assets?

Incorporate in one of the two countries. If you're serving EU, with GDPR it might be easier to do Netherlands instead of the UK.
Re:Minimus container images are now free on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @02:18PM (#48663717)
Thank you for this! Super valuable for contribution to all businesses. Suppose I want to add a custom PHP extension such as NewRelic, how would I go about adding that on your distroless images?
What is the security implication for private repos?

Could you please post the key poems? Would love to read them.
What is the process to trust the usage of this?

How can we learn the identity of the contributors? How are the contributors vetted? How are we notified if a significant change in leadership happens?

It's just a general problem when relying on GitHub accounts for important code.

For some reason I trust the big vendors to have better safe-guards against things like the questions above. Such as aws linux containers etc..

Would love to hear how other people think around this.

Re:We cut our Mongo DB costs by 90% by moving to Hetzner on Thursday November 13, 2025 @11:02AM (#45916518)
You probably want to store the backup somewhere else, ie. not Hetzner.

They are known to just cancel accounts and cut access.

We just moved to CleerTax. Not sure if they are good yet but pretty responsive.
Re:Cognitive load is what matters on Thursday December 26, 2024 @07:07PM (#42518879)
Got it, thanks. But it seemed from your original post that you tend to write state machines a lot more than the usual engineer does, would that be correct? Would you use this in a crud rest API for example?
Re:Cognitive load is what matters on Thursday December 26, 2024 @10:24AM (#42515719)
Had to re-read this several times to grasp the meaning..

Curious, what is your background and day to day work to be able to express your thinking in these terms?

Re:Struggling with Container HTTP Logs? Meet Logmink on Wednesday September 11, 2024 @02:13AM (#41508500)
What is the performance like when doing this? Doing pcap capturing and processing in node.js feels slow, but that is just a feeling and I don't have any data to back it up.. are there any performance impact studies?
