1. Able to work in backyard on a beautiful day with kids playing around me in the summer. Loved it. 2. I had home gymn but never used much and now making good use of it. 3. Food automation: This was something big. We used to sepnd a lot of time cooking fresh food. Most of time spent is on the prep. I hate washing many dishes after every meal. Dishwasher helps but pig pots and pans, need to be done by hand. Then I found a solution. We made a sauce/paste from onion, jalepenos, garlic and 7-8 spices. Then anytime we want to cook, use this sauce to beans, chicken, minced meat, rice and under 10 minutes you get nice tasting fresh food. Have made 20 varities of food so far including orange chicken, chicken tikka. Launched this with the help of kids and wife. https://mealgenie.co/ Planning for a kick starter campaign now.

I think this is not an interesting topic for hackers news. (Sadly)

Inspired by comments from hacker news discussion https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=23901779

we are building a kind of vertical niche for the graduate programs. Feedbacks and comments please.

nice work. How do you keep it udpated?

Forget about yelp and ranking and rating. Ithink the folks realize there is not a single US website that lists all the graduate schools and the courses details. We are talking about solving the next step of the problem when basic aggregation is missing.

Only 5% of graduate stduenst in US are International. In engineering, computer sciene and MBA they constitute 25% of population. In phd, less than 5%.

But it is so hard for people to give reviews. People seem to give good review when are they are very pissed off or very happy. Later seems to be a very rare case.

Ha ha I know where you are going :) My take from the post was that there needs to be some information provided to end users based on which they should be able to decide what colleges to choose. Ranking thatis dictated by third parties cannot be a criteria. And student should not spend too much time emalining each and every college they are interested in.

collegescorecard measures the outcome. In the post, Profesor Leonard talks about doctoral programs being rated based on research outcomes.
With all these discussion, my question to this group is that should I stick with vue.js ? I was using data tables and developer advocated vue.js being much better and flexible, which I agree but then these SEO challenges. If I am on laravel framework, what options do I have to implement pagination and filter conditions in SEO friendly manner. I have seen some sites using Ajax but they change the url by incrementing a variable in the url.
In google webmaster I saw the error when ran "fetch as google". It had issues with Ajax calls.
How do I allow filtering to be done on client side? I am comparing with cargurs, aamozn wayfair, how to get that filter option on left and still keep content. I was think load content first and then load filter on left. This is what amazon does

Used vue.js with laravel and my site is not SEO friendly anymore

I implemented vue.js on my site for pagination and filter. Now I realize that the page loads with filters and the data is fetched via AJAX. Do a view source and AJAX content is not displayed. This affects the site indexing and ability to rank. I do not want to go for SSR. What could be my options here? Should I ditch vue.js?

Re:Ask HN: What are best tools for web scraping? on Friday November 17, 2017 @07:48PM (#15727149)
Scrapy and Jsoup are best combinations
This advice has been given but from my experience, do not try to automate things unless you have enough customers and revenue. Spend time selling and promoting.
Yes read about you. Great way to start a business.
