Congrats on shipping. Do you have a write up with more detail on your approach to coding using ChatGPT?
May I ask what you switched to? Running into the same issue.

For those (like me) wondering what RAG means: “Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) represents a groundbreaking approach in information retrieval, where the accuracy of search results directly influences the quality of generated answers. In essence, RAG combines traditional search mechanisms with Large Language Model's ability to understand and generate answers.”

Re:Yabai – A tiling window manager for macOS on Thursday November 30, 2023 @03:16PM (#38478501)
I miss rectangle the most after switching from macOS to Linux. Ironically I end up using the mouse more on Linux because I haven’t found a similar solution for window sizing keyboard shortcuts.
Didn’t work. If I give you my login and password can you fix for me? Thx
I suspect this is the case. This device will be to the future iXR devices what the iPods were to the first iPhone.
I believe Brian Eno created a generative audio-based version of this. Each session is a unique composition.

EDIT: It was an app called Wavepaths, here is a link to the Rolling Stone article. (https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/hot-digita...)

EDIT pt.2: Here is the app itself. (https://wavepaths.com/)

Does anyone “in the know” have approximations on cost to run this on collab or similar? Maybe a very rough Dollars per minute of video?
Re:Mercury OS on Monday May 01, 2023 @07:14PM (#35780644)
Has anyone attempted to implement this into an existing Linux DE? Or a full screen web app experience?
Re:US adult cigarette smoking rate hits new all-time low on Thursday April 27, 2023 @01:24PM (#35731507)
I disagree. I think a lot of people try various gimmicks and tactics without staring themselves in the mirror and deciding that they actually want to for themselves.
‘The Millionaire Fastlane’ by MJ DeMarco. Laughable title aside, the content is life changing.

This reminds me of the blackest acrylic paint from Stuart Semple.

Would love to see a write up with more detail on this! I love Ableton but it does not play nice with Linux.
Re:Ask HN: Dealing with ADHD Without Medication? on Thursday February 23, 2023 @11:58AM (#34913070)
This is the answer. Use any fleeting motivation to construct the habit. Do not rely on “feeling like it”. Once you’ve created the habit, it will feel uncomfortable not exercising.
Re:Ask HN: Dealing with ADHD Without Medication? on Thursday February 23, 2023 @11:51AM (#34912963)
Use whatever motivation and self discipline you can muster to set up and implement a new habit, not do a thing. Tie it to an existing habit you already do regularly. “Every day after X, I will Y” where X is something you already do and Y is new newly desired behaviour. Keep it brain dead simple at first (eg. Put on my gym shoes). Have compassion if you don’t do it perfectly. Be kind to your self. Do it every day.
I disagree. As it is now, they will strive to achieve a result that is forever unattainable without performance enhancing drugs. In my opinion, this is like people who make millions selling their how to make millions courses.
Re:Ask HN: Share Your YouTube Channel on Sunday February 05, 2023 @02:37PM (#34668281)
Sounds like a really cool idea for a DAW. Not sure if you’re aware of this, but Ableton save files are just gzipped xls files.
It may be slightly conspiratorial, but the seemingly mindless hating on anyone remotely financially successful (and their work) starting making a lot more sense once I understood short positions.
Re:Do We Live in a Society Without a Counterculture? on Wednesday February 01, 2023 @12:35PM (#34614221)
Interesting point. I guess the question is: is power inherently related to culture? And if so, to what degree? If culture is the outline of the dominant group in a society, perhaps the counterculture are those who occupy and inhabit its shadow.
Re:Do We Live in a Society Without a Counterculture? on Wednesday February 01, 2023 @12:14PM (#34613766)
On this topic: part of counterculture used to be the ability to *signal* your identification with the group to other group members. Styles of dress, certain symbols or artifacts have all been commonly used. How does one signal to others their social media rejectionism in the age of social media communication ubiquity?
Re:Ask HN: Can you talk about something besides AI for a day? on Wednesday February 01, 2023 @11:09AM (#34612502)
Don’t picture an elephant! /jk

Asking people not to talk about AI is still talking about AI, with an adversarial twist.

Full title is actually “Longitudinal analysis of biomarker data from a personalized nutrition platform in healthy subjects”
Re:Why are online recipes always so long-winded? on Wednesday February 01, 2023 @10:38AM (#34611986)
A misalignment of incentives. Recipe sites want you to stay on the site for as long as possible, to serve you as many ads as possible, as this increases their income. Providing you with a clear recipe is not their primary goal.
I believe they are referring to an exponential increase in noise alongside a relatively linear progression of signal.
I truly wish more people were aware of this. The unrealistic expectations generated as a result of the silence around the topic is shameful.
Is this true for Stevia as well?
