Do you mean a war as formally declared by Congress, or perpetual wars that occur regardless?

Considering your user name, that's not surprising! ;)
Re:CNC Stone Carving on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @10:47PM (#50284002)
Man, I would love to get a replacement gear for my early days electronic eject external Macintosh 3.5" floppy drive made in stone instead of plastic. Heck yeah!
Re:MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @08:08PM (#50282724)
I wish we could get the great new PROLED XDR screen w/o touch (if that saved $$) so we could take advantage of the new brightness/contrast and not worry about gestures on the glass.
I've been seeing this photo all over the place recently.

AKA non-foldable Duo.
Re:How to run a city builder on 16 MHz on Saturday October 24, 2026 @11:26AM (#50222197)
Even quicker solution, and on 7Mhz. Use an Amiga.
Re:Android apps running native on macOS on Monday October 19, 2026 @07:57PM (#50159588)
I bet a lot of people have been doing this conversion work independently on one-off AI-assisted personal projects this year. But now someone made a thing so all those tokens (and time) can be saved!

Now for someone to make another one of these converters for webapps to become Mac apps. That would be nice, too. =) (Now I wonder if it has already been done…?)

Re:Apple HomeView on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @08:38PM (#50080945)
Aww, original "Lamp" G4 iMac vibes. (and therefore Pixar)

Got nostalgic just looking at it.

I don't know why exactly but something about the arrows feel repulsive and oddly gross.
Re:How California Closed the Montana License Plate Loophole on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @01:27AM (#49988610)
Washington needs to adopt this policy as well. I have a neighbor who moved 3 houses down a few years ago who brought 4 cars with her from Montana and never registered any of them.

It's... ridiculous.

With emoji for the bullets, natch.
Re:Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on Sunday August 30, 2026 @12:42PM (#49500251)
I hate how some sites now (including NASA's) make finding the article text a mystery in its own right.
There's also the video version... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4zGLSlLo5A
Actually his real worry is the lack of any kind of oversight and regulation - that the inmates are allowed to police themselves.
Re:Tim Curry Has Died on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @01:07PM (#49452450)
I know most folks think of other films, but his performance in Ridley Scott's Legend as the grumble-cackling lust driven red-faced demon is a core memory for me. Grew up watching and admiring that film and especially Mr. Curry's portrayal of that character so many times. Because of him.

I smell Amiga, especially if it is "designed to run Workbench."
Only available via that link in the UK or Ireland for £55.00. Quick jump over to Ebay US? $189.62 (And FedEx will have a word after they deliver it.)

US, for now, can keep getting the unconnected F91W $25 lookalike. IIRC, the F-91W has a really small strap. Almost a "ladies watch" size.

Vibration is precisely what made me sell my brand new (sold out) Pebble watch. No matter the firmware or options (un)chosen, it would randomly vibrate at odd times of the day. Couldn't stand the constant distractions.

Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U back on my wrist where it belongs.
