Re:Seattle Ultrasonics: Ultrasonic Chef's Knife on Sunday September 21, 2025 @03:08AM (#45320694)
Why can't you just buy a cheap whetstone and sharpen your knives when they're dull? I have a mid chef's knife from wustoff or zwillig, don't remember which, that I just keep sharp periodically when I notice it's dull. I've had it for years of home cooking.
I accidentally did Shift + F5 when I thought I was on my VSCode window, but instead it nuked the ChatGPT tab I had next to it and lost all of my chats.

Cool resume, you know what's weird? I saw this post earlier while working and tonight I was randomly looking at an old DOS game compilation video on Youtube. One of the clips was of a pink and blue cat game called Alleycat that I decided to find a longer video of because I liked the style. I came back here because I swore I just saw that cat earlier today and now saw your comment further down to confirm. I've never heard of the game or seen your resume until today, fun coincidence, or my unconscious mind noticed the cat.
For a while Veritas claimed to offer full genome sequencing for $1000, but I believe they've recently reduced the price to $600. Also, in refreshing my memory on this company with some light research, I found this published 40 minutes ago:

Whoops!

I've had luck with official Google phones the past couple years, and in the past the Moto line of Android phones stayed up to date to a point.
I think a big amount of the complexity comes from the folded up sunshield. I remember it had torn during a test deployment last year.

Here is a quick animation showing the whole deployment process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpVz3UrSsE4

Luckily, it's extremely rare for opossums to contract rabies, so keep snuggling those scary beasts to your heart's content.

True, I was referring to waking up in the middle of the night for an hour or two and then going back to sleep.

I recently listened to an interview with Matthew Walker (author of "Why We Sleep" book mentioned in article). Dr. Walker stated the scientific consensus is now trending toward historical biphasic sleep being a social trend rather than how we're "supposed" to sleep.
Yep, the article is talking about a group of people that are definitely pre-Clovis, which is super exciting!

I was replying to WalterBright's comment mentioning the Clovis culture coming from what is now Europe.

Which political considerations are you talking about?
I recently watched a NOVA documentary from last year that refutes the Eurocentric theories of Clovis origins.

Geneticists sequenced the DNA from a young boy's 13,000-year-old bones found in Montana. His DNA matches a specific combination of Eastern Asian and Siberian DNA that is found in all North and South American native populations, and only in these populations. This lends to the theory that the first people to permanently settle the America's (Clovis) were made up of groups from Siberia and Eastern Asia combining and crossing the Bering Strait.
