It IS going slow though. The rest of the economy will be slowly adapting it, just like they have slowly adapting other computer systems before. There simply is no use for frontier models in the real economy as of now. For the economy it's just another cost factor, a substantial one if they try to actually build something with it, that has no real benefits that results in increased productivity and revenue making. So why should anyone except AI companies adapt frontier models? They have no reason to. And it will be that way for many years to come.

Reminds me of Idiocracy. Are we idiots yet? This is so that AI agents can "guide" a human, directing the meat bot more easily. Telling the meat bot where to click and what to do. The entire "what to think" step isn't even necessary when there is no thought. Because thoughts and decisions are annoying. It's astonishing how much people are already "algorithmically" steered so they don't have to turn on their rational thinking.

That's old news. It was known that Palantir was responsible for the murder of the school girls. What's new is that the Pentagon finally admits to it now that it's out of the focus of the news cycle. A very typical strategic disclosure.

But you're not working for Flock, are you? We could go on much further until we reach the what Popper called the Tolerance Paradox: "If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them."
The point is that total surveillance is like the destruction of tolerance or in thie case privacy, and it makes watching the watchmen impossible. There's a point of no return and before that one is reached resistance IS allowed or else you lose everything.

Guy is not just a technician, he's a technician working for Flock installing surveillance tech to monitor the public. Wrong life choices have consequences like being filmed being complicit in establishing a surveillance regime.

I buy CDs, DVDs and BluRays second hand. You can get pretty good deals because there's still people who sell their entire collection because "everything is available through streaming now!". I just hope there will be much more people who sell their old stuff in order to pay for those rising subscriptions prices.

> “Samdesk gave us about 60 minutes of advanced notice that the protest organizers had moved the timeline,” Ellison explained. “That extra hour was critical. Without it our executives would have departed their meetings, they would have ran right into the heart of the disruption.”
Shielding the executives from the voices of the people. There's a recurring pattern that people with power physically distance themselves from common people, journalists and victims of their actions. They do not want to get personally confronted, every interaction "with the public" needs to be 100% controlled by them. Critics can ask them anything, sure, but only on their terms. This is how they protect themselves from responsibility.

Before calling someone else's comment ridiculous, imagine being someone being blackmailed by photos created by ChatGPT Images. You can't. Because it's all "fun", right? Jeez, people like you are totally crazy.

They have nothing to do with Cloudflare. Their challenge page is only made to look like the one from Cloudflare. It's entirely their own page. Only the reCaptcha challenge is not theirs. And the reason why nobody gets redirected is because the have used up their free enterprise quota with reCaptcha, as you can read in the widget itself.
