Unfortunately, it has such a limited release that most people who want to watch it outside North America won't be able to. No one has been able to explain why it has had such a limited release.
My comment won't be an exhaustive investigation into AI doomerism and why it's wrong and harmful, but I do want to just highlight one particular thread in all this, which is fear.

Human beings are addicted to it. And, unfortunately, it sells. It sells not just in politics, where in my country there is a surge of blaming the "other" (Russian disinfo ops, immigrants) for the slow decay of our lifestyles, it also sells in tech to otherwise smart people.

We'd all benefit from a little less fear, which shuts off our ability to reason. I'd so value more rational discourse that doesn't immediately veer into this extreme or that extreme. How can it be that we across the globe are so polarized, so incapable of having reasonable discourse that doesn't immediately result in wild-eyed proclamations of the total extinction of the human race or turning the "other side" into slavering devils who may as well be non-humans?

Re:I Made Tinnitus My Friend (Then It Disappeared) on Sunday August 09, 2026 @06:31PM (#49236852)
I mean people with tinnitus can choose to get angry about it or they can... change their attitude toward it.

I have it. I've changed my attitude toward it and made it my friend. I don't really know what else to tell you, but if you want to, the way is open for you. Or you can continue to see it as an aversive thing, and it will continue to be so.

Re:Grok 4.5 on Thursday July 09, 2026 @06:42AM (#48843745)
> But it looks like your examples are all examples of people being mean, or disruptive, or trolling.

That doesn't and shouldn't matter. I don't want people getting arrested for doing any of these things, even if I disagree with them. Do you know how disruptive it is to your life, let alone your emotional health, to be arrested?

I'm also a Dane. Denmark is worlds worse than the US in free speech and it's getting worse. This applies across the EU where people like the Spanish prime minister thinks no one deserves anonymity on the internet.

Re:U.S. government will decide who gets to use GPT-5.6 on Saturday June 27, 2026 @09:41AM (#48698239)
EU countries are in many cases far stricter.
Re:Internet traffic in Iran increasing on Thursday May 28, 2026 @12:21AM (#48304463)
Protesting against the US government in the streets will not get you shot in daylight. Protesting against the Iran government in the streets will get you shot in daylight or, worse, publicly hung.

Being gay will get you executed in Iran. Being gay in the US will not.

There is no comparison. You are not being serious.

I just realized I completely missed the grammar on this one: I meant dads of millenials.
I agree this is a terrible loss. On the other hand, new dads are actually learning how to feel their feelings, communicate those feelings in a healthy way, and tell their children they love them.

Millennial dads were (mostly) a distant mess who for whatever reason saw the expression of feelings as "weak".

Because the EU as a whole is quite happy to censor and generally wield the same tricks as "non-Western" countries in their desires to combat misinformation (however our EU bureaucrats define it), child abuse materials (see Chat Control that thing is not going to go away), and hatred (oh boy).

We've never guaranteed the right to free speech and because we haven't it's a slippery slope all the way back down to the furnaces of autocracy we sprang from.

The Spanish president has come out on record saying we don't deserve anonymity on the internet.

Ah, interesting, thanks! I think you might consider elevating some of that kind of copy.

The sociotechnical stuff with System Initiative was made by your CEO? The guy who is really into music? And I don't even know how long that product was a thing before the pivot. Not long!

Man what the hell happened to System Initiative. It was a super weird pivot from sociotechnical proclamations to a tool I honestly have no idea what it does for me? Is it n8n for agents? Is it needed when I have a bunch of skills that approximate whatever swamp is trying to do? Who knows!
Re:Cirrus Labs to join OpenAI on Saturday April 11, 2026 @10:43PM (#47735731)
Why would anyone move to a closed-source tool like yours? It's 2026.
Re:Cirrus Labs to join OpenAI on Saturday April 11, 2026 @02:33PM (#47732883)
I mean, yes it is, but we all know what happens to these projects when their primary devs move on or get acquihired. Keybase, anyone?
Re:Cirrus Labs to join OpenAI on Saturday April 11, 2026 @09:34AM (#47730466)
Wow Cirrus was like the one cool CI thing with first-class Podman support. RIP. Guess I'm looking elsewhere (and not at Dagger which refuses to support rootless Podman).
Re:I've Seen a Thousand OpenClaw Deploys. Here's the Truth on Saturday April 11, 2026 @03:44AM (#47728416)
You can just have your bot use Telegram topics for this.
Between this, Anthropic and OpenAI all reducing usage caps on their plans is it safe to say that the easy tokens have run out and we're switching into the make-profit part of this cycle?
Re:OpenClaw privilege-escalation bug on Friday April 03, 2026 @03:31PM (#47631071)
So you're comparing a generic tool you can tailor to your own needs to drugs?

This is exactly why I have zero interest in engaging with people over this topic.

Re:OpenClaw privilege-escalation bug on Friday April 03, 2026 @03:29PM (#47631049)
Why don't you try it yourself instead of making uninformed claims
Re:OpenClaw privilege-escalation bug on Friday April 03, 2026 @03:02PM (#47630698)
I'm so tired of answering this question so I simply won't.

Your best way of finding if it's useful for you is to install it and explore, just like you would with any other software tool.

Re:World Happiness Report 2026 on Friday March 20, 2026 @12:43AM (#47450580)
This is one of those things that just is not true, no matter what sort of evidence is presented, because actual humans can go walk outside their door and see it isn't.

Denmark has ranked as one of the happiest countries for years running, but, Dane here, we hoover up antidepressants like it was our breakfast. There are also deep cultural factors at play that make Danes more likely to mask that everything is fine when it isn't. We have an extremely high incidence of cheating on our partners, which, surprise, comes from a talent for deception, both toward self and others, and we are extremely emotionally avoidant, which results in our nationally very high rate of alcohol consumption and alcoholism.

These happiness indexes are a complete sham and don't observe the full spectrum that goes into how cultures present themselves versus lived reality.

> If I gave you a great tasting cake made of boiled plastic would you still eat it?

How is that analogy in any way relevant?

The OpenClaw I control is extremely useful to me. I've never been more excited about technology than right now. If it's not for you, I really don't care. Go do something you enjoy. Turning it into Chicken Little doomerism is completely uncalled for.

I tried to set up Briar recently so my partner and I could text on the plane. We tried everything including manual exchange of the special links and QR code pairing and nothing worked. This was even while we still bad ground internet access.
Re:ChatGPT Health on Thursday January 08, 2026 @12:38AM (#46537604)
I mean, unless you have a life-threatening emergency, it's the way the entire Danish healthcare system runs.
Re:Resistance training load does not determine hypertrophy on Saturday January 03, 2026 @02:53AM (#46473796)
It's a bad study that can be disproven by anyone with any experience in strength training. The sample size is tiny. This is not good science by any measure.
It's a yearly fee that amounts to a couple hundred dollars. That's about an hour of an engineer's salary. Zulip's customers make this less than a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a rounding error.
That's precisely my point. It's an arbitrary rent-seeking restriction.
I'm not going to recompile and redistribute a binary outside the Play Store.
Push costs pennies. It's an arbitrary restriction.
Re:I'm returning my Framework 16 on Thursday December 25, 2025 @11:26AM (#46385318)
I own a Framework 13. It is one of the worst machines I've ever owned. I am not misunderstanding the value proposition. For the amount of money I paid I expect a machine that sleeps when I close the lid, does not run out of battery when sleeping in a day and a half, has decent battery life with mixed use (with the upgraded battery), has speakers that aren't actual garbage (with the upgraded speakers), and sells an expansion storage module marketed as capable to run an OS that actually runs an OS without randomly turning off because of power draw issues.

To top that all off, at one point (I don't know if he's still employed) Framework hired a dedicated Linux community person who gaslighted customers with actual issues telling them it was their fault.

If this was any other mainstream PC seller, people would rightfully dump on them all day long. Instead, we are treated to long apologia from people like yourself because of "the vision".
