Most people don't know how to use the internet without Google.

I'm sure many industries are supported with the likes of "Just Google it"

Always wondered what happened to you. Followed your story a few years ago when you participated in Baremetrics/Open. Glad that you held on for a good sum and exit!
Re:AIM will shut down after 20 years on Friday October 06, 2017 @01:31PM (#15418570)
I vaguely remember the 3char screen names and the trading of accounts or lists. If I recall correctly there was underground stuff going on with trading those names. Thanks for hitting that memory switch for me.
I'd think you need to take into account a few other items such as:

Network Usage (What business segment is using it?) Upcoming Deliverables (Are current issues being resolved, active development?) Features Awareness (Is it in the press? Is press good/bad?)

They'll be releasing an e-book on how to raise millions in 9 minutes.

Bitfinex is closed for US customers.

Kraken.com?
Same, but used it to pay off all CC debt. I think I made a good choice. Might start auto-buying them again.
Re:Ask HN: Is Google adwords totally useless? on Tuesday January 10, 2017 @07:50PM (#13370805)
Almost never.

Mobile traffic is generally garbage, too.

AdWords is a monster to wrangle.

FYI: Default redis install has since fixed this vulnerability.
Re:Ask HN: What do you eat/drink during the workday? on Thursday October 13, 2016 @02:32PM (#12702959)
Oolong whether roasted or aged are a good start. It's between a black tea and a green tea. Medium caffeine.

Re:Ask HN: Anyone work in Honolulu? on Monday June 06, 2016 @03:44AM (#11845233)
There certainly is, and it's a bit insane. My email is in my profile. Hit me up if you ever wanna hit the beach with some beers, talk tech/code and bon fire. :)
Re:Ask HN: Anyone work in Honolulu? on Sunday June 05, 2016 @09:24PM (#11844096)
Aloha, I'm not on Oahu, but Maui. Pretty abysmal here as far as tech work. Been here since February, and now playing with the idea of looking for "real" work.

Still hacking on pet projects.

I'm on their email list and 2 hour cleaning offers at $29 can't be sustainable for long.
Just came to say, I think some of my understanding of HTML may have come from WSG, and that I remember the name from the early 2000s, about the time I was learning HTML. I also remember messing with the CGI scripts.
Re:Ask HN: What B2B SaaS Apps do you pay for? on Tuesday April 14, 2015 @10:55AM (#9374699)
AWS (S3, EC2, Route 53) - $40/mo

Digital Ocean - $50/mo?

Stripe

RingCentral - $34/mo? (Paid annually)

Grasshopper - $25/mo?

Pick something and stick with it; otherwise you'll never learn anything.
Re:Ask HN: Where to host a personal blog? on Thursday January 15, 2015 @04:27PM (#8895482)
I've done the same, it's very smooth.
I snagged Pete's book when it was $29. The recent upgrade and new version pushes are great. The book is essential if you want a good overview of how to get setup with Stripe payments fast, without having to read too far into Stripe's API documentation. He also includes other good ideas to improve the payment portion of your application.
Wow, I signed up to Kickstarter to specifically get your email about this, and I'm finding it a day after and never got an email.
Can I send you $25 now?

Sent you an email.
Re:What was your best passive income in 2014? on Wednesday July 30, 2014 @10:48AM (#8108478)
I plan to launch another cleaning business, utilizing what I learned in my launch 3 months ago and write an e-book, and of course sell it for passive income. :)
Re:What was your best passive income in 2014? on Wednesday July 30, 2014 @10:43AM (#8108445)
Excellent, I just started a cleaning business less than 3 months ago.
Re:Mtgox bitcoin prices going to zero..what should i do on Friday February 14, 2014 @05:47PM (#7241575)
No, if your Mt Gox account isn't verified and your coins were sent to your Mt Gox wallet, they freeze transfers out and you can only trade within their system.

Re:Ask HN: Best way to buy litecoins? on Wednesday November 27, 2013 @12:41PM (#6809699)
BTC-E, Bitfinex, litecoinlocal.org, vircurex, crypto-trade, cryptsy, coinmtk, there are a few others. All I believe aren't located within the United States, so there is risk involved other than LTC being worth $0.

I only suggest BTC-E based on it being one of the higher volume LTC exchanges.
