There was a good write-up on that from 37signals

Re:Why we moved away from AWS on Monday September 23, 2013 @10:04AM (#6430943)
I currently spend ~$2000 on Softlayer for six servers and use about 30TB of bandwidth. On AWS I would have paid more just for that bandwidth.
Re:What would you like to see most in minix? (1991) on Monday August 26, 2013 @03:42PM (#6279404)
"In the plex" and "I'm feeling lucky" - both are very good and offer very different angles. As you can guess by the name first is more formal history whereas second are memoirs of a their marketing guy who has got a very good sense of humour :)
Re:Nginx Plus on Thursday August 22, 2013 @03:35AM (#6255668)
Sad news, although it was obviously coming. Glad for Igor and others involved, but for me it is about time to start looking for alternatives.
Yes, indeed, it says so in the blog post, though not in the email itself.

Basically, it means that facebook has more (much more?) information about me, than they show to me in the profile. Not that I am surprised by that.

I guess I am part of 6 million since I got a message from Facebook regarding this.

The weird part of it is that email address they say to have been exposed is not even part of my facebook profile.

Re:Adding Concurrency to Rails Apps with Unicorn on Wednesday February 27, 2013 @03:57AM (#5291381)
For those interested in doing monitoring outside of the process itself, we run this command every minute via cron

ps -o rss,pid= -U username | sort -k 1 -nr | head -2 | awk -F: '{FS=" ";if ($1>limit*1000) print $2}' limit=`jot -r 1 144 192` | xargs kill -QUIT

It will gracefully kill 2 most memory-consuming unicorn workers above random range of 144-192MB of memory. It proved to be extremely efficient and simple solution to our needs.
