This statement is not complete, almost all new Ubiquiti PoE equipment is 802.3af compatible (48V). Older hardware is 24V only. To cross this gap they released several switches (and routers) with PoE ports which can do both (passive 24V or auto sensing 48V).

Let me just :qa! this discussion.

Very well hidden though :|
For whoever downvoted the GPS answer, RTM. Please do, it's highly informative and very cool technical and educational material. If you refuse, please insert the F into the appropriate abbreviation and start this paragraph from the beginning.
If enabled, you use a firewire connection. You don't even need to reboot and can connect as root to any running processes and filesystems.

Yes, that is actual working technology.

I don't think your being overly pedantic. The differences between sh/bash/csh/tcsh/ksh/zsh alone are enough to make your head spin.

Even better would be to not use dd, it isn't intended for testing/benchmarking write speeds, and use http://www.iozone.org/

Looking at this for a few minutes and then coming back to HN gave a sort of weaving effect. Very cool.
Re:The algorithm for a perfectly balanced photo gallery on Monday August 12, 2013 @07:09AM (#6198616)
I substitute it with flickr's latest design overhaul.
Re:The algorithm for a perfectly balanced photo gallery on Monday August 12, 2013 @06:40AM (#6198540)
Granted, maybe pinterest is a bad example in regards to optimum page filling.
Re:The algorithm for a perfectly balanced photo gallery on Monday August 12, 2013 @06:39AM (#6198539)
Maybe I'm missing the point but why is this an achievement? I've seen Google images do this for years (from the backend, sends the users viewport dimensions and then automatically calculates the optimum filling). For years (Warning NSFW!) vusker.com has been doing this client-side in their thumbnail and gallery view. Plus look at the vertically stacked posts from Pinterest.

It seems more a marketing ploy to get attention to the great service chromatic.io is providing?

Stop excusing yourself for not being something, either read more and then comment or trust your gut feeling. (not meant to sound harsh)
Right, I've pondered a while if I should be posting this but here goes. Out of sheer boredom I created a adult orientated site, yes the whole nine-nsfw-yards stuff. It's free to use, no sign ups, no premium accounts, no ads, no pop-ups etc. Content is user generated and aggregated.

Aug 3rd - Sep 2nd 2012:

Visits: 81,045

Unique Visitors: 54,386

Pageviews: 3,189,136

Pages / Visit: 39.35

Avg. Visit Duration: 00:14:12

% New Visits: 63.69%

Are these numbers good enough to even start thinking about monetization?

Greg, I'm sorry I can't comment on the original article I don't have a FB account.

What was the amount of traffic at peak times between level 2 and 8?

Re:Samwers Clone Stripe on Tuesday August 14, 2012 @08:00AM (#4380440)
I don't mind comments getting down voted, I understand it.

But this comment is down voted while it conveys a valid point. Please take a step back and try to take view this from a European (non UK) standpoint.

Re:Google Talk is down on Thursday July 26, 2012 @08:29AM (#4295638)
Netherlands is down.
After reading the entire article I noticed it doesn't contain a single link to the actual project. I like your style sir.

I would prefer a different analogy. Something like, Heavy Metal & Classical music or Dub-Step & Country.

I leave assigning these as an exercise for the reader.

True, but he/she mentioned specifically a "Hello World" in PHP.

<? echo "Hello World";

You missed the wrongly labeled 40K from LIRAMA.COM ;) Because he mentions the list will be updated, this count was made on August 17th 2011, 15:26 CET.
