I think my file manager already has enough features for a prerelease. Would anyone like to test it?
Re:Ask HN: Does anyone enjoy work anymore? on Monday November 02, 2026 @04:59PM (#50344455)
I enjoyed building with AI https://github.com/web3cryptowallet/drive-py

And I've spent 14 years handcrafting https://www.acpul.org/

Both are fun projects!

I started working with AI back in 2014 and consider myself one of the early vibe coders. I’m interested in everything related to AI and security, I’ve worked on benchmarks, optimizations, training and inference, tinygrad, H100, B200, DeepSeek etc. I also developed an ultra-fast programming language for executing complex GPU workloads and created a generative OS for it.

Under 25, I created the core of a security scanner and built a hacking team at a UK startup ($7M investment). We removed the GIL from Python to run 30,000 threads and scan 18,000 exchange IPs for malware overnight.

I have many achievements, I created a Top-10 music app on the App Store and an Instagram filter editor for a social network that had 28,000 users at launch.

I worked on a top-30 AI cryptocurrency, built a next-gen version of BitChat https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48748439 and developed a file manager for offline backup drives: https://github.com/web3cryptowallet/drive-py

I’ve been waiting 10 years for articles like this on HN. I used to wonder why nobody here was discussing or building startups around health. Turns out they are, but those topics are discussed on specialized medical forums.

Apparently, physical health isn’t something you’re going to talk about with investors and users, even though it affects everyone. Before AI, this field was too specialized and there were very few founders willing to work in it.

Re:Ask HN: Can we please limit the AI news flood? on Friday September 11, 2026 @12:40PM (#49661336)
There are already too many articles about programming and new things are constantly being invented even with AI. For example, I created a programming language called ACPUL by hand designed for humans and there are still articles about it that have yet to be written.

Programming will become like esports. Maybe out of the 30 million programmers who can program without AI, only 5 million will remain, but that is still a large number.

I’m not sure the alignment problem can be solved at all, since these bit-aliens could get out of control due to a hardware glitch in the matrix and for every higher-order control algorithm, there will always be an even higher-order one that could never be investigated.
Re:Tell HN: Reddit bots banned my accounts for no apparent reason on Thursday September 03, 2026 @12:19PM (#49552546)
There are many strategies for manipulating karma. It looks similar to what happened in the Hugging Face incident, where 1,200 bots created a social structure and violated the rules. It seems Reddit’s ML systems are unable to detect the relationships between these bots, allowing them to create accounts with immortal karma whose karma doesn’t change based on how you react to them.

Tell HN: Reddit bots banned my accounts for no apparent reason

Malicious activity on Reddit is crossing all boundaries and it looks like malicious LLMs may be carrying out targeted attacks, resulting in legitimate users facing serious problems. Are there any Reddit moderators here who could look into these incidents? In his latest posts, Sam Altman warned that malicious activity is on the rise and that everyone should take security seriously. It looks like...

Totally agree. LLMs are taking over everything related to intellectual work and work in general. But that doesn’t mean people will have nothing to do.

The show will go on and humanity will probably split into those who work deeply with AI and create an AI economy, where AIs develop and interact with each other (much like cloud systems do today) and a human world where people compete with other people both in art and in sports with the best receiving rewards and recognition from other humans.

Re:Because It's Not Fun Enough: why languages fail on Monday August 10, 2026 @11:10AM (#49244755)
All languages are fun, but the most fun programming languages are ACPUL, Lisp and fun esoteric languages like Brainfuck. Enterprise made programming less fun while the most popular languages are popular mainly because huge budgets are allocated not only to promote them across every platform, but also to pay salaries.

Re:Ask HN: Where is our profession (programmer) going? on Wednesday July 01, 2026 @10:18AM (#48747254)
Exactly. Chips are incredibly expensive and extremely complex—containing billions of transistors and you can't realistically build them at home. Memory is a good example: it keeps growing in both capacity and cost.

The same thing will happen to software. Eventually, the sheer volume and diversity of code will exceed human comprehension and only massive data centers will be able to process it. We'll reach the point where software complexity and programmer capabilities hit an economically practical limit. The next-gen Moore's Law for AI?

Today, chips are designed largely through automated processes and software is increasingly being created the same way. The main difference is the timescale: software evolves billions of times faster than hardware.
