I'm a huge fan of an old project called BulletML which was a way of describing shmup (typically bullet hell) patterns in a kinda weird and clunky XML format.I, however, think sexprs + a little lisp magic can make this idea a lot more fun so I made bullet-script.You can check out a live repl (ctrl+enter submits the buffer) + demo on the linked site in this submission and you can also check out a...
im saying the inverse, if your thesis is "cl is the best language for AI" I dont think macros really are a killer feature here
I agree with your point
cant you do most of this with smalltalk too, or erlang?
I dont really understand what macros get you when llms exist since a llm doesnt really need to create dsls to get work done
this is very easy (and fun) to do in emacs with gptel as well
you can do a lot of very neat stuff when your llm has full access to a lisp repl that can self modify itself / the ui its running in
i fucked up the random seed and it generated a bunk level, its fixed now sorry
thanks again for the feedback everyone. I just pushed a few updates around physics and scoring!
ya its still a wip, I appreciate the feedback though and I do want to keep tweaking stuff like this. Feel free to add feedback at the end of level prompts too if you feel like it, I'll be reading all of them
I made this because I wanted something quick to play while pooping
tweaking this currently, thanks for the feedback

You were trusting things on the internet before LLM's?
check out the +filter button on the homepage!
ya but 99% of streamers have their stream up in their dashboard or on a side monitor, so its always going to be sending and transcoding something
ill check, I honestly didnt even know that was a thing, thanks for letting me know
youre still encoding to like, 4 different formats and pushing bytes to a cdn for 80k+ streams in real time. I think the actual serving of hls chunks is the cheap part
honestly not sure, but it would explain how they can keep it running
no comment on the political bits, but the fact that 80% of twitch is streaming to themselves cant be cheap to run
I do wish they would revamp their discoverability process
also neat! never heard of it, seems like we have a bit different ways about browsing similar data. very cool site
ya it's why I have the default set to 0-5, theres weirdness in what twitch counts as a viewer
did I do something wrong or something

https://twitchroulette.net/
Hey HN, I re-launched an old site I remembered back in the day that someone made called twitchroulette.net with a lot of new features and stats and I would love for people to check it out. The idea is you can easily browse the less browsed parts of twitch and find cool and new streamers to say hi to, and maybe make some new friends.I also added some real time stats and breakdowns per channel...
if i wrap a bunch of abstractions in a `make run` command whats the difference
what does compilation have to do with iteration speed? There's a lot of ways to get a similar feedback loop that youd get in something like react, like separating out your core gameplay loop into its own compilation unit / dll and reloading it on any changes inside your application
If people wanted to do this theyd be self hosting xmpp servers already. No one wants to write and maintain the code and infra for things like this, you are grossly underestimating the effort involved here.
Whats the key difference between this and Rive? Especially now that Rive has full scripting support? Just curious more than anything, this does seem neat, especially the fla / xfl support (although for new things this doesnt seem like a huge killer feature)

I missed clippy and bonzi buddy, so I spent the past few days reversing and implementing microsofts old agent format (acs) and wrote a small viewer on top of it (wasm + typescript)You can check out the code here as well: https://github.com/Ell/bonzi
