I actually prefer Mac only apps. It usually means the experience is way more polished.

Just to make it clear: you don't have to write stateful apps, just because you can. It's still possible to have the more traditional stateless model like Rails.

If you do write a stateful app, and run it in k8s, you can have state handover to a newly created pod. It works pretty well.

Quite a lot of condemning, demanding and calling for actions from the western society. Yet, not once was the word "war" mentioned. Not once were the actions of the Russian government and Putin condemned.

How about you - Roskomsvoboda focus your energy on stopping the war, so Ukrainians can also enjoy the benefits of new technologies?

Using it and it works quite well. No issues so far.
Re:How we got to LiveView on Wednesday September 22, 2021 @04:18PM (#28621215)
Just want to say - thanks Chris! LiveView is the most innovative web technology I've seen in the last 5-10 years, and it is an absolute joy to use.
Also there are always FSB agents sitting in Kaspersky office. Let that sink in.
You could use CRDT for more complex games which are not turn based.

For me all of that counts. Even a bug report is a contribution.

Ask HN: Do you contribute to open source? Why? Why not?

Hi,We think that a lot of developers want to contribute to open source, but don't do it for various reasons. We want to gather more insights about it and try to improve it.We made a small survey with questions about open source. Would mean a lot to us if you take part. It should take only a couple of minutes.Link: https://fdier.co/mm23y7

I use https://github.com/lra/mackup and love it. Takes care also about application configs.
I have 1Blocker for ads and Enpass for passwords. That’s all I need. The developer console is very good, I rarely need anything else.
I recently ditched both Chrome and Firefox. Now super happy with Safari.

TextMate is such a wonderful editor. I tried them all, but always go back to TM. Also the fact that you can use ruby to write plugins is just awesome.

I almost always feel irritated when booking a vacation for this reason. So many days of lost income! But the funny thing at the same time is - I really need vacations and always feel better after them. Also the same thing if I need to do something during office hours (like a doctor appointment).
Re:Show HN: Quickly browse the history of any GitHub file on Friday February 08, 2019 @08:08AM (#19113760)
This is nice. Can it be done with a browser extension only, without a web service? (to make it work for private repos)
Please do

Re:Ask HN: Who else hates iTunes? on Monday April 23, 2018 @12:17PM (#16904768)
You probably meant it in a good way, but it is much better to say "Who knows a good alternative to iTunes?" or "How would you design a perfect music player?".

You wouldn't want to see a post "Who else hates dzohrob's music player?" would you?
