I have updated these quite a bit, the bounding boxes are fixed and there are various API mapping a including yahoo. Check it out.
Re: email
I did the opposite. I was ready to view it now, but waiting for an email turned me off. So I tweeted it instead and hope I remember to go back to my tweet. And, there's a part of me that says, in a nice way, "you haven't earned my email yet."
Still, I love the idea and actually want to find a reason to use it.
I just want to reach for it. I don't need to hit it. I have a personal trainer 3 times a week who does HIIT and conditioning, with some weights mixed in but not as the focus. And then the endurance cardio I do on my own. I'll probably stick with the trainer for quite a while, I learn a lot and it's so convenient as the gym and trainer are at my workplace, it's a real sweet setup.
I posted above, but my wife and I are very conscious of how our kids eat, and they aren't ignored or sitting at the table, sad and alone. They enjoy a variety of meals, meal time, "social skill building at the kitchen table". We're even starting to make our 5 year old sushi (rice and seaweed) at his request after eating some from the store.
It's a blog post, that was an illustration to say my kids don't eat Soylent. My kids eat normal, healthy kid food. I sit with them when it's meal time. My wife and I are very conscious of their diet and do our best to be way above the norm for monitoring and providing kids great nutrition.
I got on the subscription way back. Took a while to get here for the first time, but now I get a guaranteed box every 4 weeks.
Yes. It's a long term plan, and an illustrative exaggeration. I don't expect a 34 year old designer at a software company to actually enter the NFL combine. But I want to reach for my max potential over the next few years. I'm 34.
I am a 34 year old designer. It was an illustrative point of seeing what 3 days a week of HIIT and 3 other days of weights/cardio will do. Obviously at 34 year old guy who works at a software company won't be trying out for college basketball... or maybe I will! Is Stanford doing open enrollment? Do they have a basketball team?
It was a slight exaggeration to make a point. I have what, 8.5 months left to work on it.
Regarding 3000 calories a day etc, I am purposefully eating the 1200 range to lose fat first, that's my first goal. I do HIIT 3 times a week, and cardio 3 times. 6 days total.
I am not trying to build muscle mass at this point. I will be soon, but for now I just need to drop the fat from years of sedentary computer jobs, and condition my heart and lungs. So far, I am very happy with the improvements. I don't know how this activity level would feel at 3000 calories, but at 1200 for the short term, I feel really good.
I beta tested and played M59 when I was 14-15. Was astounding at the time, and I still remember it as great. Beta tested EverQuest after that as well. Much like people talk about UO being transformative, M59 was just something else, indescribable to be that age and experience something so immersive. It was so rough that your imagination filled in so much, it was far more real than a modern MMO.
Also, what about a Less/Sass version so the HTML can be even cleaner by using just mixins in the Less/Sass to build the grid.
How about static responsive breakpoints for the grid, instead of being 100% fluid? And with that, a maximum width?
I would have liked to see HTML and CSS just because they aren't really programming languages, but are referred to as "coding."
HTML = construction paper, safety scissors, and glue, while you wear a dirty scuba mask.
CSS = A gluestick, glitter, and pipe cleaners, while you wear mittens.
> A person who can't live without constant, 24/7 supervision and is unable to communicate is in an entirely different category than a person who just has trouble maintaining eye contact in a conversation and is maybe a bit too passionate about some niche interest.
I live in Silicon Valley, and I have an autistic 9 year old son. He resembles the former, not the latter.
Thank you for actually understanding the difference. I am glad someone gets it. The spectrum is largely diluted to the point of needing to be broken up into smaller spectrums. It pains me every time to explain what "low functioning" autism is, or "classic autism".
My son was told he couldn't really join a Bay Area Autistic Minecraft group because he was "too autistic" and it was really for high functioning autists or "Aspies."
Maybe I should just start saying "mentally disabled". Easier.
I wanted to make my own iOS7 style homepage for my phone, so I needed weather icons, And I found the original art from @artill, and then I didn't want to make PNGs so I thought an icon would be good, that was about a year ago. It's improved a lot since then and I lot of people are using it.
I followed Font Awesome 4.0 really, I am not really the biggest expert on CSS advanced features like wildcard selectors, but as someone else said, I think there's performance hits.
But really, I followed Font Awesomeas I figure Dave knows his shit (also check out blacktie https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/232193852/font-awesome-...)
What about Alien? Or Aliens who protect us from a meteor because they respect humanities kindness despite its atrocity, like the end of The Abyss.
Not that I know of. I got a few requests via email and github issues for very specific conditions in the Scandinavian countries. Some are so sublte, I am not a great enough graphic artist to truly nail the metaphor of what "dust" looks like in the style I borrowed (with permission) from @artill. Fog, smog, haze, dust, "dangerous air quality" are so similar but abstract in the style chosen.
I've had an icomoon fork open to merge mine in, just never got around to it, my metadata was lacking for their system. But it's 90% of the way there.
That's really cool, and a novel idea. Never thought about plotting weather across a long trip, really clever.
As a icon font, anything you want to do with it is via CSS. So they can be any color, have a shadow, etc, but unless someone wants to get clever, the icons have to be any single color.
I could make component pieces that have color CSS coded and stack, like a yellow sun on a white cloud that are positioned on top of one another, but that would be a massive undertaking I don't think I could commit to.
It might have become sensationalized over the last 115 years, but you can google the Urban Planning Summit of 1898 to see where it all originals from. The sentiment. I did have to make up and just guess at what real manure problems would be besides "faster horses", but they at least make some sense and paint a mental image. I'm no historian =D
Well, I made the assumption on the springboard of the World Urban Planning Summit of 1898, where horse manure was discussed for 3 of the 10 days with international city planners from all types of cities.
Granted, it's a thought piece on the abuse of "faster horses" myth that is often used to subtly circumvent user research and experience discussions.
But even today, like you say, no one says they want faster cars. I think today people might say they don't want a car at all, or a affordable Tesla, or if you go back 15 years, we thought it was a Segway.
Classic modern day problem. Maybe I should go amend the article.
