We often fear salmonella in meat but our blindspot is often salmonella in salad and veggies. Be careful out there! https://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/outbreaks-active.html
Re:No One Wanted A&W's Third-Pound Burger (2016) on Tuesday September 14, 2021 @02:34PM (#28528885)
I totally agree. The A&W burger in Canada is superior to other fast-food chains hands down. It seems to be A&W in name only.
In this post-apocalyptic scenario I think the range would be secondary to using the battery for day-to-day living. The RV could have solar and keep the battery topped off all the time.
My astute guess is ASML.
Folks understand L1 and L5. The levels between are such a blur and mix-match of things that I don't think anything is even accomplished having these levels. I agree with you, from what I have seen Tesla is far ahead and rapidly progressing using the right approach of training NNs while having a human behind the wheel.

> Not until they reach parity of charging station with petrol station

One thing to remember is that all ICE cars need a gas station but not all EVs need a public charging station. I only use a charging station for long road trips the rest of my charging is done at home.

Re:There Is a Tennis Ball Shortage Too Now on Friday August 13, 2021 @12:39PM (#28171208)
I have purchased maybe one or two packs in my lifetime but somehow I have half the worlds supply of tennis balls in my back yard.
I would love to see re-certification of "professional" drivers. Almost daily I encounter taxi or semi-truck operators driving at the limit of what is acceptable.

Tesla has had 5 straight quarters of profitability.

... and soon there will be a ban on export of plastic bristle brushes due to national security concerns.

This is very exciting for the future of Autopilot. I thought it was amazing already. I can't wait to see what they have in store.

Really liked the article in the first issue exploring the solar powered battery. Very cool to see something on solar power when it was just the start of a cool idea and knowing where it is today (seemingly also just the start).

Quicktime Streaming Server comes to mind. But holy-hell it was a pain to manually configure and use.
Re:Go support for Android on Friday June 20, 2014 @10:42PM (#7923954)
I haven't tried Go programming. I really like all these alternate programming languages/tools coming to all these platforms. Very cool. So many things to learn, so little time.

However, I like Ruby. In that department, RubyMotion the popular iOS/Mac alternate programming toolset is coming to Android. Seems the floodgates of "use your language of choice" are opening...

If you are interested in alternate languages and tool sets for your development I'd give this a look. http://www.rubymotion.com

So now is a good time to invest... got it.

I hope the Americans don't use this as an excuse to stick with their old school system. I guess in one way they are closer to the Kingdom of England than us Canadians are.
Can someone explain these graphs to a colour blind guy?
Re:8.0 earthquake strikes northern Chile on Tuesday April 01, 2014 @09:32PM (#7513005)
I never considered this technology could be used during a disaster. That is a brilliant use case that could save lives. No phone, no power, trapped under rubble this could be your lifeline.
Re:8.0 earthquake strikes northern Chile on Tuesday April 01, 2014 @09:09PM (#7512927)
Scary stuff. Personally my wife and I have decided it's time to get serious about creating a disaster kit. The "big one" could hit any time.

Hope nobody was hurt in Chile or South America.

Very cool. Been looking at adding chat discovery into a BLE (iBeacon) app I've working on. Any idea how it discovers other devices and establishes a connection?
Re:Microsoft Should Have Acquired Oculus Rift, Not Facebook on Wednesday March 26, 2014 @10:00PM (#7478097)
So true. Microsoft used to be only about productivity software. Then they became a game company. I see a lot of parallels with Facebook. A social company becoming a game company.

Xbox is to Microsoft like Oculus is to Facebook.

Re:Microsoft Should Have Acquired Oculus Rift, Not Facebook on Wednesday March 26, 2014 @09:50PM (#7478058)
Oh god no. I might be just too old. But back in my day Microsoft would buy a company and kill their product. They were referred to as the "Evil Empire" back then, they'd consume companies left, right and center. I still have a bad taste in my mouth and wish they would go away rather than this slow painful death.
