My understanding is that internally when they have tasks that their own hardware isn't appropriate for they use a combination of Linux and macOS running on commodity PC hardware. They have an internal version of macOS for the commodity PCs. The person who told me hinted they got machines from a big name vendor like Dell or HP. I was informed of this in a discussion about AR and VR. Basically we all asked how Apple even did work on this internally when their own machines clearly had some issues with that sort of workload. This was like six months ago and related to speculation about showing the new Mac Pro at WWDC 2018, which didn't end up happening.

Pi-hole is so important to me that I am unwilling to use the web without it. I also will not use Microsoft Windows without it. The Mozilla DNS over HTTP project concerns me because of this. If DNS over HTTP becomes the default for most software then I will have a serious problem.

When the gap between products was short the Apple secrecy could be fun and exciting. That is no longer the case. Now I just feel like they have contempt for me.

What really scares me about the chans is that during the government shutdowns the anti-black posts completely stopped. /pol/ is normally littered with them as well as other kinds of racist garbage, but it was the black ones alone that just vanished. After the shutdowns they returned immediately. Who on earth is being paid to do this and why?

Trump may have doomed us to an endless flood of celebrity politicians. I despise Zuckerberg but other celebrity candidates scare me more. If we must have a tech mogul I would prefer Gates or Cook.
