Re:Phoenix 1.7 is View-less on Friday December 30, 2022 @03:27PM (#34189668)
So can we refer to LiveView’s counterpart as DeadView, now?
Re:President Trump Dismisses FBI Director Comey on Wednesday May 10, 2017 @12:02PM (#14309255)
Well, he is a narcissist, so everything is about him, right?
Re:Detecting the cadence of your client's data on Monday October 13, 2014 @04:27PM (#8450457)
It seems like this would be a great case for doing a machine learning approach. Something good at anomaly detection like single class support vector machines, perhaps.

I wonder how well that would translate for a client services person, though. "Why do we think this client is off?" "Because black box."

Re:The End of Big Twitter on Tuesday September 02, 2014 @11:02AM (#8257945)
I would argue that you are correct, but I wouldn't limit it to Twitter. There are many crackhouses -- even hacker news can be one (though thankfully, our junkies remain civil and politely die in a corner where no one sees them). It is never as easy to be inhuman to someone as when hiding behind the veil of apparent anonymity.
Re:Lotus, a web framework for Ruby on Tuesday June 24, 2014 @09:51AM (#7937705)
I seem to recall, a while back the creator of RVM suffered a similarly disheartening setback when rbenv came out. RVM is still going strong. The community has not decided on lightweight frameworks. The choices you make won't be the same as lotus. You will no doubt attract a group of like-minded people who will be grateful for your contributions.
Re:Google Drive is down (502. That’s an error.) on Wednesday June 04, 2014 @01:18PM (#7846820)
If government teaches us anything, it's that there's no correlation between money spent and reliability of the system. :/
Re:Head injury causes savant syndrome on Friday April 25, 2014 @03:50PM (#7648669)
I suppose the implied ulterior motive would be greed. Though I have no reason to doubt him aside from general skepticism.
Re:A Twitter Data Scientist Hacks San Francisco's Subway Fares on Tuesday February 25, 2014 @01:52PM (#7299589)
There isn't even much technical ingenuity here. I'm not sure how this is even noteworthy. You save $1 between two people? So you split it for a lousy $0.50 or maybe $100 per year? Just stop drinking lattes and you'll save that in a month.

Not to mention if you live further away, you deserve to pay more to make up for the extra resources needed to move you around, as nchuhoai said.

Should be renamed Pointless.

We challenge all the basic assumptions of VCS and conclude ... git was right all along it just needs some syntactic sugar.
