Agree except for the Vision Pro- they messed up the hardware but the software was very refined.

Truly unclear what the usecases of each of these new products is however.

I wholeheartedly agree. People should really continue writing in their own voice, at least at a time when you can still feel the difference.

The following sentences have ai-slop cadence

“The first render gave me something to react to.”

“Some requests were tiny[…] Others changed how a whole scene worked.”

With this project really just let the agent do its thing. I had some very minor scaffolding to ask that it write english specs out but otherwise i havent really been on top of that.

I chose the “tech stack” but it wasnt much in the way of direction: plain js and webgl, cause i planned to have that be wrapped for ios and android after

Re:Show HN: Wordminos – Crosswords Meet Dominos on Friday October 09, 2026 @01:57PM (#50024307)
Thanks!

Webgames have really evolved far and away past what you may imagine them being able to support

This was actually my first entirely agent-coded, no code read game i made (in 20yrs of coding)

The timeline is here: https://wordminos.com/making-of/timeline.html

My main contributions were the polish, design, character, packaging ideas

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe I should add another touch animation like the one that teaches you about the levels menu chevron. Or just add some light glows every so often

Thanks! It took a lot of tuning!
Re:Show HN: Wordminos – Crosswords Meet Dominos on Thursday October 08, 2026 @03:24PM (#50010758)
I think it's still to be seen in the long run but so far two main ones come to mind

- Adding a mascot(s) helped immensely for creating an identity / making it not another puzzler

- Tuning the puzzle generation constraints: how frequent 2-,3-,4-,5- size pieces are, how many shared colors, how colored markers are laid out relative to one another in the board, all helped tune the puzzles from not being outlandishly difficult or mundanely boring.

I also compiled the full timeline of development, which you can browse here: https://wordminos.com/making-of/timeline.html

The visuals and sliders are great!

Maybe consider clipping the ball properly on the edges of the sides of the view frustum ?

Similarly the near and far could also be clipped; i know this is not true of the math necessarily but is the expected result in 3d graphics applications.

A first gen product like this is for early adopters and wealthy individuals who status seek
Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @11:09PM (#49531273)
Not sure why you see it as such;

Incompetent and dishonest are characteristics that follow from this professional work, adequately describing an individual who continues to make poor predictions, analyses and false statements refuted by past events.

Far from “shitting on” Zitron

> What he has never had is pedagogical knowledge: an understanding of how people learn

As anyone who’s met Sal will attest, this characterization is incredibly off the mark.

The author extrapolated from the product as opposed to understanding the person and how the product came to be the way it is.

You’re right of course, I was more responding to the very matter-of-fact “only known” phrasing.
Re:Meta's blockbuster trial draws parallels to big tobacco on Wednesday August 19, 2026 @12:35AM (#49356889)
Regulating specific interfaces that have been shown to be addictive is the same as regulating specific classes of drugs. And it’s not like we have a plethora of variants of interfaces that have been equally discovered to be toxic. They are finite and enumerable as they come up.

If they have a set of characteristics that line up with social negatives, they should be disallowed or not permitted for persons under N years old (like for gambling or smoking). This doesnt solve the problem for adults of course, but its a good compromise.

I would very readily be in favor of outright banning infinite scrolling video feeds, even if its just for under 18s

Kind of a strong statement there. Happy that fasting’s had such a positive influence on your life but:

No: fasting has not been proven to extend lifespan in humans.

Also no: exercise has been far more provably correlated with healthspan improvements than fasting.

> I don't think I've had a truly original idea in my life.

There’s no such thing as a truly original idea. It is all just combining A+B!

Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Monday July 27, 2026 @06:35AM (#49067564)
This is true hypothetically but doesn’t quite work to produce good puzzles like say in Zanagrams without sufficient heuristics/constraints
Re:Show HN: Reverse Minesweeper on Sunday July 26, 2026 @03:58PM (#49061850)
Im curious how youve set up the multiple puzzle games you have to generate two daily puzzles each? It cant be entirely by hand or entirely AI driven?

To play devil’s advocate, intuition is still a physical response to stimuli mixed with knowledge of past experience. Hypothetically it could be modeled- the problem here comes down to how to encode it.

I’m not sure if it went anywhere but I remember there was this attempt at one point called Sudolang:

I also worked on a number of Flash projects in its heyday. I agree that there aren’t really any close equivalents to its feature set today, but there are some tools like Rive and Lottie that I’d consider modern day reimaginings for many multimedia workflows.
